Pursuant to Division Memorandum No. 44b, s. 2024, and aligned with DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2024 and the established guidelines on Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping, Silaki Island Elementary School successfully conducted its Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity for School Year 2026-2027.
The activity began with an orientation attended by the SELG Officers, SELG Adviser, SWHM Moderator, and School Watching Team. The orientation provided learners with essential knowledge on identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and promoting safety within the school environment.
Following the orientation, the SELG Officers, together with the School Watching Team, conducted a systematic inspection of the school grounds and perimeter. They observed and identified possible hazards and risk factors that could potentially affect the safety and well-being of learners, teachers, and other school stakeholders.
The identified concerns were then discussed and documented to help strengthen the school's disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and safety measures. Through this student-led initiative, our learners were empowered to become active partners in creating a safe, inclusive, resilient, and child-friendly learning environment.
๐ Through the eyes of our learners, we see hazards. Through collective action, we build a safer school.The activity was successfully implemented as planned, with active participation and cooperation from everyone involved. No significant issues were encountered during its implementation.
