Yabyaban Elementary School conducted the Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping activity pursuant to DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2015, which aims to strengthen disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and promote a safe learning environment for all learners.
The SELG Officers and SDRRM Team actively participated in the school watching by observing school facilities and identifying potential hazards and risky areas inside and around the school premises. The School Watching Checklist was updated based on their observations and findings.
After the school tour, the learners had a short discussion about the identified hazards and possible ways to prevent accidents and ensure everyoneβs safety. They also prepared and posted a Hazard Map to provide clear information on areas that require caution and attention.
Through this meaningful, student-led activity, our learners are empowered to become safety-conscious, responsible, and proactive advocates of disaster preparedness and environmental safety. Together, we continue to build a safer and more resilient school community. ππ±
