SINDANGAN, Zamboanga del Norte — Armed with courage, talent, and an unwavering passion for journalism, four young writers from Saint Columban College- Elementary Department stepped onto the regional stage and proved that even the youngest voices can echo loudly in the battle of minds and pens.

Representing their school in the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) 2026 held from March 05-09, 2026 in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, the four journalists demonstrated remarkable determination as they competed with the region’s best campus writers.

Despite the intense pressure and fierce competition, the young journalists showed composure, creativity, and resilience. Each of them fought bravely until the final moment of the competition, giving their very best to uphold the banner of their school.

🖋️ Reiven Anmarie N. Buot competed in Editorial Writing showcasing strong critical thinking and persuasive arguments that reflected depth, clarity, and conviction.

🖋️ In Science and Technology Writing, Princess Cailin R. Ligutom displayed exceptional analytical skills as she transformed complex scientific concepts into engaging and understandable stories.

🖋️ Meanwhile, Orvelle P. Saludsod Jr. highlighted creativity and emotional storytelling in Feature Writing capturing meaningful narratives that resonated with readers.

🖋️ Completing the team, Francis A. Pandeagua demonstrated artistic brilliance in Editorial Cartooning, translating social issues into powerful illustrations through his sharp insight and visual storytelling.

Though the competition was challenging, the experience itself marked a historic milestone for Saint Columban College - Elementary Department as the four young journalists courageously represented their school in the regional arena.

Their journey stands as a testament that with passion, perseverance, and the power of the pen, young journalists can make history and inspire the next generation of campus writers. ✨

SINDANGAN, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE — The Sports Section of The Columban Lens, the official Publication of Saint Columban College- Elementary Department, freshly rebranded, proudly clinched 6th place out of more than 70 entries at the 2026 Regional School Press Conference (RSPC) during the School Paper Competition in Elementary Level, English Category on March 05-09, 2026.

This is the second entry of the school in the School Paper competition, and the team finally secured a spot on the winners’ podium.

With creativity, teamwork, and relentless effort, the journalists covered school sports and crafted engaging stories that impressed the judges. Their rebranded section not only looks fresh but reads with impact, proving that determination pays off.

For SCC - Elementary Department, this 6th-place finish is more than a number — it’s a milestone that celebrates passion, grit, and the beginning of a new chapter for The Columban Lens.

The said event will happen at the SCC Gymnasium, 7:00 AM. All pupils and teachers are obliged to wear their desired Professional Attire. Dress to impress, SCCians!
