Odlot SK Officials Turn Over New Material Recovery Facility

BARANGAY ODLOT — In a proactive move toward environmental sustainability, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials of Barangay Odlot, led by SK Chairperson Hon. Enrico Fernandez, officially donated and turned over a new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to the community.

The youth leaders presented a sturdy, red-painted metal segregation bin designed to help residents properly sort and manage waste. The facility features three distinct compartments, allowing for the organized collection of recyclable materials, which is a crucial step in reducing the local carbon footprint and maintaining the cleanliness of the barangay.

The donation of the MRF is expected to encourage Odlot residents to practice better waste segregation at the source. By providing the necessary infrastructure, Hon. Fernandez and his council are empowering the youth and the community at large to take an active role in ecological preservation.

"Small steps in segregation lead to giant leaps for our environment."

Many Hands, One Mission: Day 3 of Brigada Eskwela 2026

The spirit of bayanihan remained strong as Odlot National High School successfully carried out Day 3 of Brigada Eskwela 2026, bringing together teachers, parents, learners, alumni, and community volunteers in a shared mission of rebuilding and preparing the school for the upcoming academic year.

Despite the challenges left by the recent earthquake, helping hands continued to arrive. Armed with cleaning materials, tools, and determination, volunteers worked side by side in clearing debris, cleaning classrooms, repairing school facilities, and improving learning spaces for the students.

What made Day 3 special was not only the work accomplished but also the unwavering commitment shown by the community. Every swept floor, repaired chair, and cleaned classroom reflected the collective hope for a brighter future for Odlot NHS learners.

The activity served as a reminder that education thrives when a community stands united. Through cooperation, generosity, and resilience, stakeholders demonstrated that rebuilding a school is more than restoring structures—it is restoring opportunities, dreams, and hope.

As Brigada Eskwela continues, Odlot National High School remains grateful to all volunteers whose time, effort, and dedication help pave the way for a safe and welcoming learning environment for every learner.

Indeed, Day 3 was another testament that when a community works together, no challenge is too great to overcome.
