On January 30, a meaningful outreach program was conducted at Pinag-Anakan Integrated School, a remote community school serving 140 learners. This initiative is a collaborative project of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), CREDO, College of Education, and Basic Education and was made possible through the valuable support of the PARAYA Office, in collaboration with DepEd officials and partners. The program allowed us to witness the resilience of teachers and learners who continue to pursue education despite geographical challenges, limited resources, and long journeys—some even traveling by boat just to reach school.

This initiative strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting inclusive and equitable access to learning opportunities, especially for learners in geographically isolated areas. It also advances SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by helping bridge gaps in access to basic educational support and resources. The distribution of hygiene kits promotes SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, ensuring that learners are better equipped to maintain personal hygiene and stay healthy. Moreover, the collaboration among CAS, Basic Education, College of Education, CREDO, the PARAYA Office, DepEd, and partner institutions reflects SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting the power of collective action in creating positive and lasting change.

Feature programs and projects were discussed by Dr. Esperanza S. Nuñez, College of Arts and Sciences Dean, together with Mr. Mark Kevin Evangelista, PARAYA Director, and DepEd officials: Dr. Marinela Pengson, EPS Science; Dr. Cecilia Custodio, CID Chief; Dr. Rainelda Blanco, SGOD Chief; Dr. Jaime Tugade and Ma’am Maria Celina Vega, CESO VI Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Perlita Pagdanganan, ERS Kindergarten; Dr. Shiela Marie F. Castillo, EPSA; AIS IPED; Dr. Eleseo Godoy, EPS Values Education/GMRC; Dr. Joel I. Vasallo, EPS-EPP, TLE, TVL; Dr. Mylene Isidro, EPSA-ALS; Dr. Marco Paulo Victoriano, ITO; and Dr. Agnes Bernardo, EPS in charge of ALS and IPs.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our dear President, Mr. Michael S. Yanga, for his unwavering support and commitment to programs that promote inclusive and quality education for all.

Together, we continue to support inclusive, compassionate, and quality education for all. 🌱

DYCI-CBA ACHIEVES GLOBAL RESEARCH DISTINCTION!

Mr. Kenneth Miranda, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration, has been awarded Best Paper Presenter at the International Conference on Globalization, Entrepreneurship and Emerging Economies - an honor determined through votes cast by both the organizers and fellow presenters from 68 universities worldwide.

This recognition is especially historic as DYCI stood as the only Philippine institution represented in a global assembly of scholars, administrators, and researchers from some of the world’s most reputable and academically influential universities.

Amid a conference hall filled with delegates from top-tier higher education institutions across Asia, Europe, Middle East, Australia and North and South America, DYCI’s lone presence did not merely participate - it excelled.

Vice Dean Miranda’s paper, “From Hook to Play: Mapping the Elements of VIBE that Drive Generation Alpha’s Short-Form Video Consumption,” was distinguished for its methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, and relevance to emerging digital behavior among young audiences. The study’s innovative insights positioned DYCI–CBA as a thought leader in contemporary media and youth research, offering a framework now recognized on an international platform.

This achievement affirms DYCI’s growing stature in global academic discourse, proving that excellence in research can be Filipino-led, community-rooted, and internationally acknowledged. It is a powerful testament to the competence, credibility, and rising influence of DYCI scholars on the world stage.

Congratulations College of Business Administration for elevating DYCI to global prominence and embodying the excellence of Filipino research.

To God be the glory!

Honoring a Legacy of Love and Leadership ✨

Today, the DYCI community gathered with hearts full of gratitude as we celebrated the 83rd birthday of our beloved Board of Trustees Chairperson and Executive Vice President, Dra. Elida D. Yanga.

A concelebrated Mass was held at the St. Carlo Acutis Chapel with Rev. Fr. Mario Jose Ladra as the main celebrant, joined by Rev. Msgr. Albert Suatengco, Rev. Fr. Gerry Fortunato, Rev. Fr. Daniel Coronel, and Rev. Fr. Ritz Darwin Resuello. In his touching homily, Fr. Ritz highlighted how Dra. Elida has been a time-tested cornerstone of DYCI — a woman whose strong faith, vision, and unwavering dedication have shaped the institution and the generations it continues to serve.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the program continued with the unveiling and blessing of a monument at the Aula Magna façade. During this meaningful tribute, Sir Kel Yanga offered a heartfelt message, emphasizing Dra. Elida’s essential role in the growth and progress of the school throughout the years.

Truly, it was a day overflowing with joy, gratitude, and unforgettable memories — honoring not only a remarkable leader, but a motherly heart who inspires us to strive, to serve, and to believe in the greatness of God’s plans.

Happy, blessed birthday, Dra. Eli! 🎂
