DYCI - Supreme Student Council “Every voice has the power to spark change; every action has the power to shape tomorrow.”

The unit is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of the different clubs and organizations duly recognized by the institution; guiding and monitoring the student groups to ensure that their objectives and activities are in accordance with the institution's Vision-Mission statement; and initiating leadership seminars, group dynamics and other relevant activities for students and student leaders.

“Namamasko po!” This phrase is what we usually hear from people after they sing a Christmas song or go caroling. It is a special Christmas tradition in the Philippines where children or groups of people sing Christmas songs, sometimes using various recycled instruments.

Christmas in the Philippines is not complete without this familiar practice. This tradition showcases the talents of each person as well as the Filipino heart of giving to others. Through music, we once again spread the Christmas spirit in a uniquely Filipino way.

Not every storm can be stopped, and not every problem can be solved right away. But having someone beside us can make the difficult days feel a little lighter. ⛈️

An umbrella gives us shelter when it rains. In the same way, we can be a source of comfort and support for someone going through a difficult time. We may not know exactly what they are feeling, and we may not have the perfect words to say, but listening, checking in, and simply staying can mean more than we realize.

Supporting someone does not mean carrying their struggles for them. It means reminding them that they do not have to face them alone. And when our own skies feel heavy, it is okay to let someone hold the umbrella for us, too.

You do not have to stop the rain. Being there through is enough. ☔

Have you ever completed the “Simbang Gabi”? In the Philippines, it is a tradition to complete nine (9) mornings of Mass before Christmas Day, which we call “Simbang Gabi.” These Masses are seen as a way of preparing for the birth of Jesus and are believed to help make a prayer come true.

Through this tradition, Filipino people gather and attend the Eucharistic celebration as one community, setting aside their time for Jesus. It is more than just a religious belief or tradition, it reflects the cultural experience of Filipino people and shows their strong faith during the Christmas season.

May mga tulay na matagal nang nakatayo, tahimik na nagkokonekta sa mga lugar na dati ay magkahiwalay. Hindi nito binabago ang magkabilang panig, ngunit nagbibigay ito ng daan para makalapit sa isa't isa.

Gaya ng tulay, maaaring ang isang mensahe, isang pangungumusta, o ilang minutong pakikinig ay makatulong. Mukha man maliit tignan, malaking bagay naman ito para sa isang taong may mabigat na pinagdadaanan. Hindi kailangan ng mahabang salaysay upang maiparamdam na tayo'y nakikinig. Dahil ang pakikinig ay hindi lamang sa mga salita, kundi pag-unawa sa mga kuwentong nagmumula sa puso.

Minsan, hindi madaling magsabi ng nararamdaman, lalo na kapag hindi natin alam kung paano ito sisimulan. Mayroon ding mga taong naghihintay lamang ng isang taong unang mangungumusta. Kaya huwag nating maliitin ang simpleng paglapit, at baka ang isang "Kumusta ka?" na akala natin ay ordinaryong tanong lang ay ang tangi nilang kailangang marinig.

At kung dumating naman ang panahong tayo na ang nangangailangan ng tulay, huwag tayong matakot tumawid. Hindi kahinaan ang pag-abot. Hindi rin kahinaan ang pagtanggap ng tulong. Tandaan natin na ang paglapit ang unang hakbang para hindi natin kailangang harapin ang lahat nang mag-isa. 🫂💛

The Seminar on Strengthening Campus Safety and Security: Building a Safer DYCI Community is currently underway at the DMDY Complex, Marciano Campus.

The seminar was initiated by the School President, Sir Michael Yanga, together with LGU Bocaue Mayor Jon Jon Villanueva and Vice Mayor Sherwin N. Tugna with the guidance of our esteemed guest speakers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Bocaue, today’s seminar brings together knowledge, preparedness, and shared responsibility toward creating a safer and more secure campus community.

From awareness to action, DYCI continues to foster a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility—because a safer campus begins with a community that is informed, prepared, and ready to respond.

This simple and small lantern has become a symbol of Filipino identity, embracing the Christmas spirit through its shining stars that light up the streets and create the warm and joyful atmosphere of Christmas in the Philippines.
