The MarSU - University Quality Assurance Division (UniQAD) proudly announces the designation of Mr. Aristottle M. Epa, Administrative Officer IV, as Head of the Quality Audit and Continuous Improvement Section under the University Quality Assurance Division.

In this pivotal role, Mr. Epa will lead the University’s initiatives in strengthening its internal quality audits, ensuring conformance with established standards, and translating audit findings into actionable improvements. His responsibilities include:

*Quality Management System Certification – coordinating ISO 21001:2018 certification processes and serving as liaison with external certification bodies.

*Performance Excellence – facilitating institutional participation in national performance excellence frameworks.

*CHED Institutional Sustainability Assessment – ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with CHED’s ISA and other CHED-initiated assessments and requirements.

*Institutional Accreditation – integrating audit results into accreditation documentation and evidence.

*Academic Program Accreditation – spearheading accreditation activities, preparing self-survey instruments, and serving as the primary liaison with accrediting bodies.

Pineda, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Elementary Education program and Dean of the College of Teacher Education, on her prestigious selection by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. as Program Accreditor of academic programs at Benguet State University, scheduled on August 18–20, 2026.

This recognition highlights Dr. Pineda’s outstanding leadership and expertise in teacher education, while also underscoring MarSU’s growing role in advancing quality assurance across Philippine higher education. Boac, Marinduque - The University Quality Assurance Division (UniQAD), in partnership with the Planning and Development Unit, has successfully harmonized its performance targets with the EMPOWER2ACHIEVE Agenda of the University President, Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta. This milestone forms part of UniQAD’s pre-planning activities for 2027, aligned with the institution’s Strategic Quality Assurance Plan.

The harmonization session emphasized the importance of aligning quality assurance goals with the broader institutional agenda to ensure coherence, accountability, and measurable outcomes. By integrating UniQAD’s targets with the EMPOWER2ACHIEVE Agenda, the University strengthens its commitment to excellence in instruction, research, extension, production, and governance.

Boac, Marinduque — Marinduque State University (MarSU) has formally joined the Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ) as a corporate member, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in education, governance, and institutional transformation.

Earlier today, the Certificate of Membership was presented to University President Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta by Assoc. Prof. Raoul J. Magcamit, Director of the University Quality Assurance Division, at the Office of the University President. The ceremony highlighted MarSU’s proactive stance in embedding quality assurance across its academic and administrative systems.

Membership in PSQ provides MarSU with access to national and international networks of quality professionals. This strengthens the University’s compliance with global standards such as ISO 21001:2018 and aligns with the CHED ACHIEVE Agenda, ensuring that its programs and services meet rigorous benchmarks of quality and accountability.

Through PSQ, MarSU employees and students can actively participate in conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects that foster partnerships with industries, government agencies, and other academic institutions. MarSU College of Engineering Collaborates with QA to Strengthen Program Accreditation Readiness and Global University Rankings

The Quality Assurance Division (QAD) and the College of Engineering (CEng) of Marinduque State University (MarSU) collaborated on the conduct of a Technical Guidance on Accreditation Readiness of Programs alongside a World University Rankings to further prepare its programs for institutional compliance and international visibility.

During the session, Assoc. Prof. Raoul J. Magcamit, Director of the Quality Assurance Division, shared the University’s extensive experiences in accreditation processes and participation in global university rankings. His presentation highlighted both the milestones achieved and the lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement as a cornerstone of MarSU’s quality journey.

Key insights included:

- Accreditation readiness: Strengthening documentation, outcomes-based assessments, and evidence matrices to ensure programs meet national and international standards.

- World University Rankings: Understanding ranking indicators such as research impact, internationalization, and industry engagement, and identifying areas where the College of Engineering can contribute significantly.

- Continuous improvement: Leveraging feedback from accreditation bodies and ranking organizations to refine strategies, enhance faculty development, and expand collaborative initiatives.

Assoc. After three days of rigorous evaluation, Marinduque State University (MarSU) has been officially recommended for Stage 2 Certification Audit under the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).

The audit culminated with the presentation of initial findings by Ms. Mary Grace Balobalo and Ms. Jogina Mendiola, external auditors from TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc., capturing areas needing improvement and offering insights to strengthen the robustness of MarSU’s existing practices and processes toward continual improvement.

During the closing session, SAO & HRMU Head Ms. Erma E. Reyes, KTTO Director Assoc. Prof. Edgardo Laririt, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Verna Liza L. Capina, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos, Jr. expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the auditors and process owners. They reaffirmed MarSU’s strong commitment to further elevate the quality of service delivered to its clients and stakeholders.

The Stage 2 Certification Audit is scheduled on September 1–3 and 7–9, 2026, marking another significant step in MarSU’s journey toward global competitiveness and excellence in higher education.

Marinduque State University (MarSU) proudly concluded Day 3 of the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) Stage 1 Certification Audit, with the focus on the Graduate School and Curriculum and Instruction processes.

The simultaneous audit was expertly carried out by Ms. Mary Grace Balobalo and Ms. Jogina Mendiola of TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc.. Serving as auditees were VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos, Jr., Director for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Liza Marie M. Manoos-Pacia, Graduate School Dean Dr. Julieta Q. Nabos, MPA Program Head Dr. Anne Grace M. Labatete, and MIT Program Head Dr. Ronjie Mar L. Malinao.
