In line with DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2016 (Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools or WinS Program), Poras Elementary School proudly joins the nationwide celebration of the 2026 Global Handwashing Day!
With this year’s multi-year theme, "Be a Handwashing Hero," we remind our beloved learners, parents, and teachers that keeping our hands clean is our ultimate superpower to fight off germs, prevent illnesses, and save lives!

Let's make regular handwashing with soap and clean water a healthy habit—both at home and in our classrooms!

Remember: A simple 20-second wash keeps the doctor away! 💦

Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony and National Safety Week 2026

Poras Elementary School actively participated in the observance of National Safety Week 2026 while simultaneously conducting the weekly Flag Raising Ceremony on October 12, 2026. Due to continuous rainfall and unfavorable weather conditions, the activity was held inside the classrooms to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners and personnel.

During the ceremony, pupils and teachers respectfully participated in the singing of the National Anthem, recitation of the Patriotic Oath, and other flag ceremony components. The observance of National Safety Week highlighted the importance of preparedness, disaster risk reduction, and safety awareness. Teachers shared brief reminders and safety tips with learners, emphasizing the importance of staying alert and practicing proper safety measures both in school and at home.

Despite the weather challenges, the school successfully carried out both activities, demonstrating its commitment to promoting patriotism, discipline, and a culture of safety among learners.

📢 NATIONAL SCHOOL SAFETY WEEK 2026

Nakikiisa ang Poras Elementary School sa pagdiriwang ng National School Safety Week 2026 na may temang:
“Paaralang Ligtas, Bata ay Protektado.”

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang, isasagawa ang Kick-Off Program at Flag Ceremony bukas, ika-12 Oktubre 2026 (Lunes), sa ganap na ika-7:15 ng umaga sa Poras Elementary School.

Layunin ng gawaing ito na patatagin ang kamalayan at pakikilahok ng buong komunidad ng paaralan sa pagsusulong ng ligtas, inklusibo, at handang kapaligiran sa pagkatuto. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos, maitataguyod natin ang kaligtasan, kalusugan, at kapakanan ng bawat mag-aaral.
Inaanyayahan ang lahat ng mga mag-aaral, magulang, g**o, at mga katuwang sa komunidad na makiisa sa makabuluhang pagdiriwang na ito.
Sama-sama para sa ligtas na paaralan at mas maliwanag na kinabukasan ng bawat bata.

Behind every meaningful lesson is a teacher who invested time, effort, and heart long before entering the classroom. Beyond what students see are sleepless nights spent preparing learning experiences, challenges quietly endured, and countless sacrifices made in the pursuit of quality education.

Each day, teachers carry responsibilities that extend far beyond teaching. They guide, encourage, listen, inspire, and remain steadfast in their commitment to nurturing every learner, often while facing their own personal and professional challenges. Yet, despite the demands and difficulties, they continue to show up with dedication, patience, and genuine care.

Poras Elementary School conducted the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in the afternoon following the Virtual INSET. Only the teaching and non-Teaching Staff participated in the activity. Everyone followed the correct "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure.
