Pursuant to the authority of Hon. Florencio C. Garay, City Mayor and Chairperson of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), the suspension of work in all government offices, private companies, and classes at all levels (public and private) is hereby declared effective October 10, 2025, until further notice.

This directive is issued in view of the Tsunami Threat following the 7.6-magnitude earthquake recorded off Davao Oriental, as part of the City’s proactive disaster risk reduction measures.

All residents are advised to remain alert, move to higher ground, and await further advisories from PHIVOLCS, OCD, and the CDRRMC.

Due to the effects of Tropical Cyclone “VERBENA” currently impacting the coastal and marine areas of Bislig City—and following the latest PAGASA weather advisory—the City Government of Bislig, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), is issuing an urgent reminder to the public.

To ensure the safety of everyone and to prevent any untoward incidents, the City Government is TEMPORARILY PROHIBITING the following activities effective immediately and until further notice:

🚫 All forms of sailing and fishing activities
• Motorized and non-motorized boats
• Commercial and small-scale fishing vessels
• Recreational boating

🚫 All beach-related activities, including:
• Swimming
• Diving
• Snorkeling

🚫 Any other form of water recreation

All Barangay Captains, Beach Resort Operators, and the Philippine Coast Guard are directed to strictly enforce these guidelines and ensure proper risk communication within their respective areas.

The public is urged to remain vigilant, avoid coastal and marine zones, and stay updated through PAGASA, the City DRRMO, and the Local Government Unit for official announcements.

📢 PAGPASABOT:
Sumala sa Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, ang mga baybayon sa Pilipinas nga nag-atubang sa Pacific Ocean, lakip ang Surigao del Sur, posibleng makaeksperyensya og tsunami waves nga ubos pa sa 1 metro ang kataas. Gilauman nga unang balud moabot sa alas 1:20 hangtod alas 2:40 sa hapon karong adlawa, Hulyo 30, 2025 (PST). Posible kini magpadayon og pila ka oras.

🚨 REKOMENDASYON:
⚠️ Ayaw sa pag-adto sa dagat o baybayon sa mga apektadong probinsya hangtod makansela ang advisory.
⚠️ Katong nagpuyo duol sa baybayon, gina-awhag nga mobalhin og mas layo sa inland.

Dear Learners, Teachers, and Staff,

Due to the high temperatures being experienced, everyone is reminded to **drink enough water throughout the day** to prevent heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses.

✅ **Bring a water bottle** to school and refill it when needed.
✅ **Drink water before you feel thirsty** — aim for at least 6–8 glasses a day.
✅ Avoid excessive intake of sugary drinks and caffeine.
✅ Stay in shaded or well-ventilated areas during breaks.
