Bislig City — Student leaders from Southern Technological Institute of the Philippines Inc. (STIP), accompanied by their adviser Mr. Vernie Culla, participated in a citywide one-day leadership training held today at De La Salle John Bosco College. The event brought together youth leaders from various public and private schools across Bislig City.

The program, themed “Panag-Usbong sa Misyon: A Student Leadership Training,” served as a citywide outreach and mission initiative aimed at empowering student leaders to become mission-driven agents of positive change. Anchored in the core values of integrity, compassion, and responsibility, the event provided participants with sessions focused on character formation, leadership development, and community engagement.

Throughout the day, student leaders engaged in workshops, team activities, and discussions facilitated by experienced mentors and youth advocates. These activities were designed to strengthen leadership skills, deepen their sense of purpose, and inspire them to lead with empathy and accountability within their respective schools and communities.

STIP’s participation highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders who are grounded in service and driven by their mission to contribute to societal progress. School representatives expressed pride in their student leaders for embracing opportunities that enhance their personal growth and leadership potential.

The leadership program concluded with a call for continued collaboration among schools in Bislig City to uphold youth empowerment and promote initiatives that cultivate responsible, compassionate, and transformative leaders.

Bislig City — Southern Technological Institute of the Philippines Inc.(STIP) secured 5th place out of 25 competing schools in the Children’s Congress Celebration Quiz Bee held on Friday at the Bislig City Sports Complex in line with the National Children’s Month celebration.

STIP was represented by Jemarrie Quiamjot, a Grade 12 student, under the guidance of her coach, Mr. Gelban Balo. The duo competed against top contenders from both public and private schools across the division, showcasing exceptional knowledge and composure throughout the event.

This year’s celebration carried the theme, “OSAEC–CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, which underscored the nationwide advocacy to end online and offline sexual abuse and exploitation of children while promoting their rights and safety.

School officials expressed pride in the achievement, noting that STIP’s participation reflects the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence and child rights awareness. Quiamjot’s performance earned praise from teachers and classmates, bringing honor to the school community.

The Children’s Congress Celebration Quiz Bee is one of the major activities mounted annually to promote children’s welfare, strengthen youth involvement, and inspire learners to become advocates of safety and rights protection.

Displaying grit and determination, Michael Ortiz, a Grade 9 student of Southern Technological Institute of the Philippines (STIP), proudly bagged the Bronze Medal in the 3,000-Meter Dash during the Bislig Citylympics 2025.

Under the dedicated mentorship of Coach Sir Djay-Ar Matias, Ortiz demonstrated outstanding endurance and perseverance throughout the race, proving his capability to compete among the city’s best young athletes.

Despite tough competition, Ortiz’s focus and commitment led him to secure a podium finish, bringing pride and honor to the STIP community. His remarkable performance reflects his hard work and the continuous guidance of his coach.

The entire STIP Family celebrates Ortiz’s achievement and looks forward to his continued growth and success in athletics. Truly, Michael Ortiz embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence that STIP upholds.
