Pangasinan State Universityโ€“Binmaley Campus welcomed delegates from the Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU) College of Criminology, Dagupan City for a benchmarking activity focused on faculty, curriculum, and instruction on August 13, 2026, at the University Library.

The LNU delegation was led by Mr. Jonathan A. Espiritu, Dean of the College of Criminology, together with Ms. Beverly D. Quezon and Ms. Marie Cris C. Soriano. Their visit provided an avenue for both institutions to exchange insights, practices, and experiences in the delivery of criminology education.

Dr. Joseph B. Campit, Campus Executive Director, welcomed the visiting delegation, highlighting the value of institutional collaboration in strengthening academic programs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Representing the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), Ms. Saylee M. Honrado introduced the roster of faculty, while Dr. Jan Michael A. Fernandez, Dean of CCJE, presented the Collegeโ€™s practices and initiatives in the area of faculty. Ms. Gina S. Millamina, Department Chairperson, led the presentation on curriculum and instruction.

Following the presentations and open forum, the LNU delegates toured the criminology laboratories and other instructional facilities of the College of Criminal Justice Education, giving them a closer look at the facilities, learning resources, and training environments that support the academic and practical preparation of PSU Binmaley criminology students.

More than a benchmarking visit, the activity served as a platform for meaningful professional exchange between the two institutions. By sharing practices and perspectives, PSU Binmaley and LNU strengthened their academic linkage and reaffirmed a shared commitment to continuously advancing the quality of criminology education.

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Pangasinan State University โ€“ Binmaley Campus conducted its Faculty Meeting on August 7, 2026, via Google Meet in preparation for the opening of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

The meeting was spearheaded by Dr. Jan Michael A. Fernandez, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, together with Ms. Gina S. Millamina, Department Chairperson, with the participation of the faculty members of the College.

The meeting focused on the academic and administrative preparations necessary for the orderly opening of classes and effective implementation of the College's academic programs for the new academic year. Among the matters discussed were the Academic Calendar for AY 2026โ€“2027, preparation and submission of course syllabi, JC 3 updates, preparation and updating of faculty portfolios, and preparations for the EOMS External Audit. Other academic and administrative concerns relevant to College operations were likewise addressed.

Particular attention was given to the preparation and timely submission of course syllabi, including the alignment of course outcomes, learning activities, assessment strategies, and course requirements with the prescribed curriculum and University policies. Faculty members were also reminded of the academic documents and records that must be properly maintained throughout the semester.

Updates concerning JC 3 were presented to keep faculty members informed of relevant guidelines and documentary requirements. The preparation and updating of faculty portfolios were also discussed to ensure the systematic documentation of faculty accomplishments in instruction, research, extension, professional development, and other academic engagements.

Preparations for the EOMS External Audit formed part of the discussion, with emphasis on the proper organization and maintenance of records and supporting documents in accordance with established University procedures and quality management requirements.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for faculty members to raise concerns, clarify responsibilities, and coordinate academic and administrative activities requiring immediate attention at the beginning of the academic year.

Through the leadership of the College administration and the active participation of its faculty members, the College of Criminal Justice Education continues to strengthen its academic practices and institutional processes in support of quality instruction and the effective implementation of University programs as it welcomes students for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

Chosen from a competitive pool of 1,144 applicants across the Philippines, Ms. Ramos will participate in a three-month specialized training program focused on:

The Justice Through Science Project is a forensic science capacity-building initiative that brings together educators, law enforcement professionals, and international experts to strengthen forensic science education and practice in the Philippines.

The project is implemented through the collaboration of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, the U.S. Department of State, U.S. International Exchange Alumniโ€“Philippines, and the University of the Cordilleras, in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of U.S.โ€“Philippines Diplomatic Relations.

This opportunity reflects Pangasinan State University's continuing commitment to faculty development, international engagement, academic excellence, and the advancement of criminal justice and forensic science education.
