RHU I Binmaley Conducts Misting Operation at Calit Elementary School

Today, September 22, 2026, at around 4:00 PM, the Rural Health Unit I of the Municipality of Binmaley conducted a misting operation at Calit Elementary School as part of its continuing efforts to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.

The misting activity covered all 18 instructional rooms, 2 non-instructional rooms, the Social Hall, and the garden area of the school campus.

Misting is an important preventive measure that helps control mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects within the school premises. By reducing mosquito populations, it minimizes the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, particularly dengue, and contributes to maintaining a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment for learners, teaching personnel, and school staff.

Calit Elementary School extends its sincere appreciation to the Rural Health Unit I – Municipality of Binmaley for its prompt assistance and continued commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of our school community. Your support is truly valued.

Young Eyes, Safer Schools: Empowering Learners Through Student-Led Watching and Hazard Mapping 2026

As part of Calit Elementary School's commitment to creating a safe and disaster-resilient learning environment, the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) successfully conducted the Student-Led Watching and Hazard Mapping.
The activity began with an orientation on July 30, 2026, facilitated by Mr. Jayson S. Benitez, School Watching and Hazard Mapping (SWHM) Moderator, where SELG officers were equipped with the knowledge and skills to identify and assess potential hazards within the school premises.

On July 31, 2026, the SELG officers conducted the school watching activity and identified several areas requiring attention, including slippery pathways, overgrown grasses, broken windows, exposed electrical wires, damaged furniture, protruding nails, dilapidated ceilings, improperly stored heavy objects, and condemning school structures.

The findings were formally presented to the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Team, serving as a valuable basis for prioritizing mitigation measures and strengthening the school's safety and preparedness initiatives.

Through this activity, our young leaders demonstrated responsibility, vigilance, and active participation in promoting a culture of safety, proving that disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility.
