It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved alumnus, Mr. Mon Kiert Usi who was once a dedicated WCC-ATC AMT student. We extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and pray that God may sustain Mr.Usi's loved ones with the fortitude to bear this time of profound loss.

Rest in Peace. May his soul forever soar eternally.🕊

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC DIES IN A HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT ALONG EDSA SHAW BOULEVARD

An aircraft mechanic of Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP), Mr. Mon Kiert Usi, died due to the strong impact when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle at the underpass of the MRT-Shaw Boulevard Station in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday morning (14 June 2023).

According to reports, the said aircraft mechanic was hit by a white sports utility vehicle before he fell and was run over by a tanker while traversing along the bus lane of Edsa Shaw Boulevard tunnel.

The authorities also urged the suspect and other motorists who witnessed the incident to cooperate with the police.

Mr. Mon Kiert Usi is a product of WCC aeronautical and technological college. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology in 2020.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family of the late Mon Kiert Usi.

PLEASE BE REMINDED that SAFETY is always important... aviators and people involved in the aviation industry nowadays ride a motorcycle (hobby or daily use). Always remember that aviation safety is the study and practice of managing risks. ALWAYS FOLLOW SAFETY GUIDELINES, not only in aviation.

Congratulations to our very own Chess Champion, Wens Zaren Duron!

Results just came in from last Nov. 21, 2022 that Mr. Duron from the College of Avionics Technology won as the Champion of World Zone Promotion - Open Class in the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) Chess Tournament. He represented the Philippines in this server event which started from Sept. 30, 2021 and ended on Nov. 21, 2022.

For the next server event, the top two places advance to Higher Class tournaments. Ties will be broken per ICCF Tournament Rules for Individual Events. Players that advance to the next stage have 3 years from the end of the tournament to use their qualification.
