Today marks the 43rd death anniversary of Benigno โNinoyโ Aquino Jr. ๐, a renowned Filipino politician who served as a senator and a governor. He courageously stood against the Marcos regime, awakened the Filipino spirit, and inspired the nation to fight for freedom and democracy.
On August 21, 1983, Ninoy was assassinated upon his arrival at Manila International Airport. As a way of honoring him, this day was officially observed as a national non-working holiday under the Republic Act No. 9256.
May his legacy continue to inspire the Filipino youth to love, serve, and fight for our country. As he famously said,
