Forty years ago, millions of Filipinos stood together along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, choosing courage over fear. The four-day peaceful uprising ended two decades of authoritarian rule under former president Ferdinand Marcos.

During Martial Law (1972-1981), many endured arrests, censorship, disappearances, and the silencing of dissent. Yet in those historic days, civilians, religious leaders, and soldiers stood united—armed not with violence, but with faith, unity, and the collective demand for change. The revolution led to the exile of Marcos and the inauguration of Corazon Aquino, restoring constitutional democracy.

The EDSA Revolution remains a reminder: when a nation stands as one, freedom can be reclaimed.

As we commemorate 40 years since this pivotal event, may we continue to uphold the values of democracy, justice, and unity that shaped those four extraordinary days.
