🌍 Safety First!
Saint Francis National High School and San Francisco Elementary School conducted an in-depth session on Earthquake Preparedness and Response Planning together with the SPTA and Barangay San Francisco Emergency Respones Unit.

👷‍♀️ Working hand in hand to strengthen our community’s readiness and resilience during emergencies. 💪✨

Saint Francis National High School Conducts Earthquake and Disaster Safety Inspection

In line with the suspension of face-to-face classes across the province, Saint Francis National High School conducted an inspection of classrooms and buildings to ensure the safety and security of learners and personnel in the event of earthquakes or other natural disasters.

The activity aimed to identify potential hazards, assess structural integrity, and strengthen the school’s disaster preparedness and response measures, in support of the Department of Education’s commitment to prioritize learner safety and welfare.

The inspection was participated in by Engr. Precious Joy Coronado, OIC Assistant Principal Donna Jane M. Alfonso, SEPS–SMN, Ms. Maureen Jane Alangco, EPS II–SMN, Barangay Councilor Felino C. Catalon, members of the San Francisco Emergency Response Unit (SFERU), the School PTA President, and the school administrators.

As the next step, a meeting will be convened headed by School Principal Ma’am Manaig, Asst. Principal Mrs Alfonso, together with the PTA officers, Barangay Chairman, and SFERU, with the assistance of the Division DRR Section and Division/LGU Engineers. The discussion will center on the review and enhancement of the school’s evacuation plan, noting that the school is surrounded by densely populated residential areas with limited nearby open spaces for evacuation.

Moreover, since Saint Francis NHS is among the identified schools situated near the West Valley Fault, another round of inspection will be conducted through the efforts of the LGU Engineers to further assess the structural soundness of school facilities and ensure the highest level of preparedness for seismic and other natural hazards.

Classes will continue through Alternative Delivery Modes (online and modular).
