BEYOND THE SCENE: APPLYING INVESTIGATIVE SKILLS IN ACTION

A crime scene is more than what meets the eye—it is a collection of details, evidence, and information that must be carefully observed, documented, and interpreted.

As part of Specialized Crime Investigation 2, students put their investigative knowledge into practice through a crime scene simulation coupled with interrogation and interview exercises. The activity provided a practical setting where students experienced the importance of systematic crime scene processing, evidence recognition, observation, documentation, and effective questioning.

Through these simulations, future criminal justice professionals are challenged to think critically, communicate effectively, and approach every investigative situation with discipline, accuracy, and professionalism.

From the scene to the interview room, every detail matters. Every question has a purpose. Every piece of information can lead closer to the truth.
