Today, we celebrate a professor who is not only brilliant and passionate about her teaching, but also someone who inspires us through her wisdom, strength, and genuine care for her students.

Behind her calm and sweet personality is a fierce and knowledgeable mentor who never hesitates to challenge us to do better. Her classes are always filled with valuable lessons, and every discussion leaves us with something meaningful to take with us.

Mr. John Cedrick G. Ellazo, LPT, delivered an engaging and thought-provoking session on the vital role of volunteerism and leadership, leaving the youth inspired to take action and make a difference. Hon. Federico C. Torres II provided a comprehensive and practical discussion on SK candidacy, breaking down the step-by-step process of filing requirements and demystifying the election process. ‎The future of leadership took the center stage at UPHSL Performing Arts Theater. Freedom, empowerment, and active citizenship were seen as the Political Science, Psychology, and Communication students gathered for a day dedicated to youth action! 📣✨

‎The discussions began with an inspiring remark by the Program Chair Ms. Farron A. Deorayom, who encouraged the attendees and reminded everyone to "Take charge and leave your mark." The invited resource speakers then shared invaluable insights on youth leadership, with Mr. John Cedrick G. Ellazo discussing contemporary issues, Hon. Federico C. Torres II, talking about the importance of leadership and offering an essential guide for aspiring Barangay and SK officials.

‎After a quick noon break, the CASmates came back refreshed and ready for the seminar's second half! To get everyone hyped up, the afternoon started with a fun icebreaker game, followed by powerful informative notes from Atty. Emerson H. Aguilar, on the true heart of public service. As the discussions commenced, the attendees had the opportunity to ask the speakers some thought-provoking questions during the program. ✨

‎To wrap up, our UPHSL Political Science Society President gave a brief message and proudly introduced the PSS team behind the event at the closing segment before handing out take-home souvenirs to all the attendees. 🎁 The incredible enthusiasm, patience, and active participation of our CASmates made the event a success. 🎉✨

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) bring students together to Tindig: Tungo sa Makabuluhang Pagbabago – Youth Leadership and Civic Participation Seminar 2026 on September 25, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the UPHSL Performing Arts Theater.

This event enables students to stand up for what they believe in, take part in substantial dialogue, and become actively involved in their communities. By means of learning, working together and sharing their views, the participants are encouraged to develop into responsible, well-informed and proactive future leaders.

The Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office (YASDO), represented by Mr. John Cedrick G. Ellazo, Administrative Officer and Officer-in-Charge of the Youth Development Division, joined “Tindig: Tungo sa Makabuluhang Pagbabago – Youth Leadership and Civic Participation 2026” on September 25, 2026, at the Performing Arts Theatre of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna JONELTA – Biñan Campus.

Organized by the Political Science Society, the event brought together more than 500 College of Arts and Sciences students to learn about civic engagement, youth leadership, and volunteerism. Ellazo delivered a discussion on leadership, encouraging participants to take an active role in addressing the needs of their communities.
