ALS Biñan City Strengthens Capacity through Regional Training!

To keep pace with the evolving ALS Curriculum, three ALS Teachers from SDO Biñan City actively participated in the Regional Training of ALS Teachers and Implementers on the Revised ALS K to 10 Curriculum, held on May 13–15, 2026, at MI Sevilla, Lucena City.

Over the course of three days, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on DepEd Order No. 001, s. 2026 – Implementing Guidelines of the Enhanced ALS, highlighting updates to the Learning Strands designed to be more responsive to the diverse needs of ALS learners.

One of the key highlights was the development of concrete plans and strategies on how ALS Biñan City will adapt these changes to further strengthen program implementation and improve learner outcomes.

ALS Biñan City remains steadfast in its commitment to empower teachers and implementers to deliver quality, innovative, and learner-centered education for our Out-of-School Youth and Adults.

The training was attended by the CID Chief, Division ALS Focal Person, Education Program Specialist II-ALS, and our passionate ALS Teachers.

Patunay na hindi hadlang ang edad sa pagkamit ng minimithing pangarap!

Si Teacher Angelica ay isang buhay na patunay nito. Sa kabila ng pagiging asawa at ina, pinagsabay niya ang pag-aaral at trabaho bilang isang day care worker. Sa edad na 42, nag-aral siya sa ALS Biñan, kumuha ng Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test at nakapasa. Nagtapos siya ng Bachelor of Technical Teacher's Education Major in Food Service sa Trimex Colleges sa tulong ng Iskolar ng Biñan (INB). At sa edad na 55, sa kanyang unang pagkakataon, nakapasa siya sa Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Tunay na naabot ni Teacher Angelica ang kanyang pangarap, isang inspirasyon sa lahat ng ALS learners na patuloy na nagsusumikap para sa mas maliwanag na kinabukasan.

ALS Biñan Implementers on the go!

ALS Implementers are currently sorting, organizing, and preparing in-house‑printed ALS learning modules for use in the upcoming school year. Despite the delay in the printing of these materials, the team remains committed to ensuring that all modules are properly prepared and ready for distribution to support our learners’ needs.

These learning modules play an important role in modular and self‑paced learning, enabling ALS learners to continue studying independently according to their learning level and availability. They also serve as essential learning resources during disasters, emergencies, or class interruptions, helping ensure continuity of learning even when regular classes are disrupted.

We extend our appreciation to DepEd Philippines for the Program Support Fund, which enabled the procurement of ALS learning resources. We also acknowledge DepEd Biñan for its support in facilitating the in‑house printing of these modules.

These modules will be distributed to ALS learners upon the release of the Functional Literacy Test (FLT) results during the opening of classes, ensuring that each learner receives materials appropriate to their assessed literacy level.

We also express our sincere gratitude to the City Government of Biñan for its continuous support and for providing salaries to four (4) ALS Implementers, whose dedication and service significantly contribute to the sustained implementation of the ALS Program.

Through the combined efforts of all stakeholders, these initiatives are beneficial to the out‑of‑school youth and adults under the ALS Program of the City of Biñan, supporting access to inclusive education and learning continuity in various circumstances.

Orientation for ALS Implementers Luzon 2 Cluster

The Orientation for ALS Implementers of the Luzon 2 Cluster was successfully conducted on April 15–16, 2026 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, highlighting the key provisions of DepEd Order No. 01, s. 2026.

The activity was attended by ALS implementers from Regions IVA, IVB, NCR, and Region V, together with Schools Division Superintendents (SDS), Assistant Schools Division Superintendents (ASDS), and led by Director IV of the Bureau of Alternative Education, Dr. MARILETTE R. ALMAYDA.

SDO Biñan were represented by the SDO ALS Focal Person, Dr. Lani A. Alonte, and the Education Program Specialist II for ALS, who actively engaged in the discussions and policy clarifications. The orientation provided clearer and timely updates that will greatly benefit both ALS learners and implementers.

We will share all updates and learnings from this orientation with the ALS Implementers of SDO Biñan before the opening of classes for SY 2026–2027, so they are informed, aligned, and ready to implement the ALS programs.
