An Open Letter to the UPHSL - Biñan Administration
Dear Ma’am / Sir:
Good day!
The tertiary level is considered as the training ground for students to gain knowledge and hone their skills to become a better person in the near future. The students sacrifices uncountable sleepless nights, experienced breakdowns, experienced getting a failed subject, and alike. Graduation ceremony is a dream of everyone as it signifies the taste of victory after a rough journey in college.
Year 2020 had a rough start. As of today, we are on the 93rd day of the quarantine due to the global pandemic, Corona Virus Diseases 2019 (CoViD-19). Mass gathering is one of the activities strictly prohibited until the curve is finally flattened. The Province of Laguna is currently under the General Community Quarantine until June 30, 2020. Based on the guidelines issued by the IATF-EID, mass gathering is allowed as long as 50% on-site rule is implemented.
Graduation ceremony is one of our dream. Sending of our own photos is not a good idea because most of us doesn’t have a mobile phone with a good camera. These photos will be used in our diploma and Transcript of Records, it is a once in a lifetime picture so better took it in a studio-like manner. The wearing of toga and taking of graduation picture is also essential to us because it is our receipt on completing our college life. In line with this, we, the students, are petitioning for the postponement of the graduation ceremony until the IATF-EID allows mass gathering.
We are hoping for your favorable response regarding our request. Thank you and may God bless us all.

It is evident that the University has not yet released any advisories or replies on the letter submitted on the increase of percentage discount. On that matter, together with the students of UPHSL, would like to address the University for their corresponding action regarding the request.
The Supreme Student Council 2019-2020 stand with the students as they plea for a justified discount on their fees for this semester.
STAND and FIGHT, Pursue what is RIGHT!

As we all know, the country is under a state of crisis due to CoVID-19 pandemic and no one is prepared for it. Many of us are affected by this crisis especially on financial aspect. However, based on the released Statement of Account from the university, the students will only receive an unfair 10% discount on miscellaneous fees.
Normally, one semester consists of 18 weeks of classes conducted in the campus itself. However, due to Covid- 19 crisis, students only had 8 weeks of actual face-to-face learning without even using the University's facilities.
Therefore, the Supreme Student Council together with the respective college council presidents, filed a request letter for an increase of discount on miscellaneous fees last May 22, 2020. Ten (10) days after filing, the University still has no response.
