True service begins when we step beyond ourselves to uplift others. On May 22, 2026, that spirit came alive again at Sitio Balimbing, the adopted community of Saint Michaelโs College of Laguna and the Zonta Club of Laguna.
What stands today as the LINGAP Zonta Center began as something far more humble. In 2012, this very site was a dumpsite. Through the benevolence and generosity of the Garcia sisters, it was transformed and inaugurated on December 9, 2012, as the Milagros Limaco Community Centerโa place of hope for families in Sitio Balimbing.
Over the years, the โkuboโ grew with the community. On May 22, it was re-opened and blessed as the LINGAP Zonta Center, marking a milestone in SMCLโs 50th Jubilee and its commitment to service.
The newly renovated center now serves 120 families with a safer playground and improved facilities for livelihood training, learning, and play. At the heart of this relaunch was the activation of Project EARN Phase 2, giving residents access to livelihood and skills programs, and improved living conditions that create real pathways to dignity and self-reliance.
This transformation was made possible through the collaborative effort of the LINGAP SMCL Foundation, SMCLโs Community Extension Services Unit, our student volunteers, and our partners: the San Antonio Barangay Office and the Zonta Club of Laguna.
Biรฑan City Mayor Gel Alonte, San Antonio Punong Barangay Michael Moro Gonzales and Sanggunian, Alagang Len Chairperson Len Alonte, Zonta Club of Laguna President and Representative Ann Matibag, Zonta Area 5 Director Susan Lim, LINGAP Foundation Chairperson Armita Rufino, and Executive Director Andrea Sese Relucio graced the celebration. Mayor Gel announced that he would look into SMCLโs appeal to adopt Sitio Balimbing as a priority community for coordinated action.
๐From a dumpsite to a community centerโthis is what happens when partnership meets purpose.

We are a club for future leaders. And as future leaders, we know that:
๐ Justice delayed is justice denied.
๐ Running from the law is not "strength."
๐ Public funds are for the people, not for keeping power.
We stand for women who lead with a clean heart and open hands. Anything less is just greed. โ๏ธโจ

Last April 21, 2026, the SMCL Golden Z Club, together with LINGAP SMCL, student leaders from various SMCL organizations, the SMCL faculty and staff, and our college president, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese, journeyed to the heart of the Sierra Madre at the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant to celebrate Earth Day through a meaningful tree planting activity.
Standing in what is known as the โbackbone of Luzon,โ we were reminded of how vital the Sierra Madre isโnot just as a breathtaking landscape filled with towering trees, but as a natural shield that protects countless communities from strong typhoons and devastating storms. Walking through its forested slopes, feeling the cool air, and witnessing the richness of life around us made the experience deeply meaningful and humbling.
More than planting trees, we planted hopeโhope for a greener future, for stronger protection against climate challenges, and for a generation that values and safeguards our environment. This Earth Day, we didnโt just celebrateโwe connected with the very lifeline that sustains and protects us. ๐๐ฑ

Society has a habit of using "hasty" labels to describe women who are simply owning their space. But this Womenโs Month, we are crossing out the stereotypes and writing the truth. โ๏ธ
What the world calls ~~bossy~~, we know is EMPOWERED.
What they call ~~difficult~~, we know is ASSERTIVE.
What they call ~~emotional~~, we know is PASSIONATE.
What they call ~~intimidating~~, we know is INSPIRING.
We are tired of being defined by words that try to shrink our impact. Today, we reclaim our narrative. We are giving ourselves the authority to lead, the confidence to claim our rights, and the power to redefine what is possible. ๐

As we close Womenโs Month, the Z and Golden Z Clubs stand at the starting line of a permanent mission. We arenโt just looking for a heroโs welcome; we are building a world where every woman is her own heroโbecause we are all EquALL.
True equality isn't a destination we reach overnight; itโs the distance we are willing to go together. No matter the barriers, no matter the climb, we move forward with the unwavering belief that when one of us rises, we all rise.

As we celebrate Womenโs Month, we are reminded of the power, resilience, and impact of every woman in shaping a more inclusive and empowered society.
Last March 19, 2026, the Golden Z Club of Saint Michaelโs College of Laguna showed their support for every woman by attending ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ผ, ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐: ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ด๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ด ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ถรฑ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ด๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ก held at the 3rd Floor Peopleโs Center Auditorium, Biรฑan City Hall.
The event served as a meaningful platform for empowerment and awareness, featuring inspiring messages from Mayor Gel Alonte and the keynote speaker Ms. Kris Sison and Ms. Jodi Sta. Maria, emphasizing that true leadership is lived through action, compassion, and courage. It highlighted that excellence is not about merely enduring, being an example means uplifting others, and strength is found in leading with empathy.
This event help us realize that true empowerment begins when we use our voices to stand for what is right, uplift other women instead of competing, and lead with both strength and compassion, because real excellence is not about surviving alone, but growing together and creating lasting change for the next generation.๐ท
