Last April 21, 2026, the SMCL Golden Z Club, together with LINGAP SMCL, student leaders from various SMCL organizations, the SMCL faculty and staff, and our college president, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese, journeyed to the heart of the Sierra Madre at the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant to celebrate Earth Day through a meaningful tree planting activity.

Standing in what is known as the “backbone of Luzon,” we were reminded of how vital the Sierra Madre is—not just as a breathtaking landscape filled with towering trees, but as a natural shield that protects countless communities from strong typhoons and devastating storms. Walking through its forested slopes, feeling the cool air, and witnessing the richness of life around us made the experience deeply meaningful and humbling.

More than planting trees, we planted hope—hope for a greener future, for stronger protection against climate challenges, and for a generation that values and safeguards our environment. This Earth Day, we didn’t just celebrate—we connected with the very lifeline that sustains and protects us. 🌏🌱

Society has a habit of using "hasty" labels to describe women who are simply owning their space. But this Women’s Month, we are crossing out the stereotypes and writing the truth. ✍️

What the world calls ~~bossy~~, we know is EMPOWERED.

What they call ~~difficult~~, we know is ASSERTIVE.

What they call ~~emotional~~, we know is PASSIONATE.

What they call ~~intimidating~~, we know is INSPIRING.

We are tired of being defined by words that try to shrink our impact. Today, we reclaim our narrative. We are giving ourselves the authority to lead, the confidence to claim our rights, and the power to redefine what is possible. 💜

As we celebrate Women’s Month, we are reminded of the power, resilience, and impact of every woman in shaping a more inclusive and empowered society.

Last March 19, 2026, the Golden Z Club of Saint Michael’s College of Laguna showed their support for every woman by attending 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗘𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼, 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀: 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶ñ𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 held at the 3rd Floor People’s Center Auditorium, Biñan City Hall.

The event served as a meaningful platform for empowerment and awareness, featuring inspiring messages from Mayor Gel Alonte and the keynote speaker Ms. Kris Sison and Ms. Jodi Sta. Maria, emphasizing that true leadership is lived through action, compassion, and courage. It highlighted that excellence is not about merely enduring, being an example means uplifting others, and strength is found in leading with empathy.

This event help us realize that true empowerment begins when we use our voices to stand for what is right, uplift other women instead of competing, and lead with both strength and compassion, because real excellence is not about surviving alone, but growing together and creating lasting change for the next generation.🌷
