GAD 2026 | Inspiring Inclusive Leadership in Education

The faculty and staff of Nereo R. Joaquin National High School, under the leadership of Dr. Manolito P. Asetre, Principal II, and Dr. Michael B. Dioquino, Assistant Principal, actively participated in the Gender and Development (GAD) 2026 Seminar held on June 19–20, 2026, at Diwata Nature Resort, San Pablo, Laguna.

A key highlight of the event was the engaging presentation of Ms. Liezl R. Villanuac, Admin Officer IV and Formation Coordinator of the Schools Division Office of Biñan City, who shared her expertise through the topic “Creating Happy and Inclusive Workplaces: Attitude and Leadership in Education.”

In her session, Ms. Villanuac emphasized that building a positive and inclusive workplace begins with the attitude and actions of every leader and educator. She discussed how empathy, respect, collaboration, and effective communication contribute to a school culture where individuals feel valued, motivated, and empowered to perform their best. She also highlighted that inclusive leadership promotes gender sensitivity, equal opportunities, and a sense of belonging, creating an environment where both educators and learners can thrive.

The seminar served as a meaningful opportunity for the NRJNHS family to reflect on the importance of cultivating workplaces grounded in compassion, professionalism, and mutual respect. Through initiatives like GAD 2026, the school continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering gender-responsive leadership and creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for everyone in the educational community.

Together, we champion a culture where positive attitudes inspire transformative leadership and inclusivity becomes the foundation of quality education.

Discipline, Respect, and Readiness: The NRJNHS Way

At the NRJNHS Main Building, a flag ceremony was conducted today to formally welcome the students for the new school year. Following the ceremony, the Grade 9 and Grade 10 advisers and subject teachers were introduced, along with the office staff and school administrators.

In his message, Dr. Michael B. Dioquino, Assistant Principal, emphasized the importance of discipline and encouraged students to become responsible and productive members of the school community. Meanwhile, Dr. Manolito P. Asetre, Principal II, appealed to the students to actively contribute to the development of the school by upholding its core values—flexibility, competence, and public service—as well as demonstrating respect in all aspects of their lives.

This was followed by an orientation conducted by Sir Sherwin Mosqueda, Head Teacher II and DRRM Coordinator, on disaster preparedness and earthquake safety. The discussion was particularly relevant in light of the recent earthquake incidents reported in Mindanao, which served as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for unexpected natural disasters. During the orientation, Sir Mosqueda shared essential reminders, safety measures, and practical tips on how Joaquinians should respond before, during, and after an earthquake or any unforeseen emergency. The activity aimed to equip students with the knowledge and awareness needed to ensure their safety and resilience in times of crisis.

Men at Work. Saturday Grind. 🔧💪

Even on a Saturday, the spirit of service continues at Nereo R. Joaquin National High School. Leading the hands-on repair and maintenance works was Dr. Manolito Plandes Asetre, together with our dedicated school guards, Mr. Raymundo Almendral and Mr. Jonathan Manrique.

The team worked on fixing leaking faucets and sinks, cementing damaged corners and areas, and repairing faulty electrical outlets to ensure a safer and more functional learning environment for our Joaquinians.

This meaningful effort reflects true commitment—leadership that goes beyond supervision, and service that goes beyond duty. Salute to all who continue to build and improve our school, one repair at a time. 💙🏫✨
