ENGLISH WEEK- PART 2
"Literature is one of the most interesting and significant expressions of humanity." - P.T. Barnum
From January 27 to 31, Ann Arbor Montessori celebrated English Week with the theme โEnglish as a Global Language: Bridging Cultures, Connecting the World.
Throughout the week, students were assigned various pieces of literature to perform - such as poems, short stories, speeches, and declamations โ which they presented during their respective contests. ๐
In addition, the Quiz Bee and Spelling contests tested the studentsโ knowledge of the English language, covering a range of topics from grammar to literature. The slogan-making and poem-making contests gave students the opportunity to express themselves creatively by crafting original slogans and literary pieces.
To conclude English Week, the school hosted a Culminating Activity that showcased the winners of each contest and their outstanding performances. Students came dressed in costumes, with some portraying Disney fairytale characters and others representing gods and goddesses from mythology. This weeklong celebration allowed students to explore and appreciate the richness of the English language while unleashing their creativity through literature and performance.

Led by Father Jose Thor Villacarlos and guided by Chairman Sir Remark Peรฑamora, this special event brought together 19 participants, including students from Grades 4, 6, and 7, along with dedicated faculty members.
It was a profound moment of unity and faith, reminding us of the strength we find in our spiritual connections.

On November 14, 2024, Ann Arbor Montessori held their fire and earthquake drills. This taught the students about the importance of safety during fires and earthquakes and what to do during these disasters.
As students practiced these drills, firemen from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) taught them techniques to use in order to protect themselves in case of a fire or earthquake.
In addition, the firemen allowed students to volunteer to put out a fire, either using a fire extinguisher or a hose. In the end, the students took pictures at the BFP's fire truck.
Throughout this day, we are shown that safety is a top priority when it comes to disasters such as fires or earthquakes. By practicing these drills, we can ensure that we know what to do when these disasters occur and stay safe in the long run.

On November 8, 2024, Arborians celebrated the 29th foundation day of Ann Arbor Montessori, a yearly milestone that honors the school's legacy, with a series of celebratory festivities.
This special event started with a heartfelt, holy mass held at the school's quadrangle. Then, students from each grade level took turns quickly setting a lively mood with energetic dances and retro outfits from the 1980s as a throwback to the school's humble beginnings. Right after this Kickstarter, Arborians spent the day preserving memories and joy with friends through picture booths and embracing the Halloween spirit through trick-or-treating. Every student enjoyed sweet treats and biscuits before bonding with their classmates and teachers through outdoor and indoor games.
As we commemorate this year's foundation day, let us cherish the memories we've made and use them as a reminder of the strength, friendship, and excellence we've acquired after embarking on our journeys together beneath one school.
Once again, happy Foundation Day, Arborians!

On October 4, 2024, the Arborian students celebrated Teacherโs Day, a special event dedicated to honoring the teachers who play a vital role in shaping the minds and futures of every student.
In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, students expressed their appreciation by presenting personal letters to each teacher. These letters conveyed how profoundly the teachers have impacted their lives, thanking them for their guidance, support, and encouragement. Today, we celebrate the lasting influence of teachers and the difference they make in every life they touch.
Through their knowledge, dedication, and patience, teachers not only nurture academic success but also instill values that extend beyond the classroom. Their commitment to excellence and passion for education inspire students to dream big and strive for greatness.
Happy Teacherโs Day, dear teachers!

"Ang wika ay susi ng puso at diwa, tuluyan ng tao't ugnayan ng bansa."
โ Marisol Mapula ๐ชถ
โจ
