𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | AMiCUS-BC Spends the Sabbath at the Library of BiPSU-BC

A week ago last sabbath, September 26, members of AMiCUS-BC gathered not in a usual hall or chapel but within the quiet, welcoming walls of the BiPSU-BC Library. What might seem an unexpected place became a meaningful setting for fellowship, reflection, and spiritual refreshment.

Far from just a space for books, the library offered a calm atmosphere perfect for seeking stillness and drawing closer to God. Members spent time in prayer, singing, sharing encouraging words, and reading from Scripture - proving that worship and connection with one another can happen anywhere two or more gather in His name.

In the afternoon, AMiCUS-BC continued the AY (Adventist Youth) program incorporating not only songs and inspirational messages but also interactive Group dynamics and Bible games. It was a simple but beautiful reminder: God’s presence is not limited to one building or one hour. Wherever we gather with open hearts, He meets us there.

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." -
- Matthew 18:20

IN PHOTOS | AMiCUS-BC Induction '26–' 27: Leading Like Jesus

The AMiCUS–BC Induction of Officers for the Academic Year 2026–2027 was held on August 29, 2026, at Biliran Church, Biliran, under the theme: "Leading like Jesus."

To lead like Jesus means leadership is not about position, power, or praise. It is about serving with a humble heart, loving others, and putting God and people above ourselves. It means walking gently, acting with integrity, and lifting those around us rather than lording over them.

For many of us standing there that day, it felt like more than just a formal ceremony - it was a quiet, heartfelt moment of committing to something bigger than ourselves. As we stood before the congregation, taking our oath, we didn’t just accept a title or a badge. We accepted a calling - to lead not from above, but from beside one another, just as Jesus did: with hands ready to serve, a heart quick to listen, and a spirit that chooses kindness over pride.

We know we aren’t perfect. There will be days we fall short, moments we feel unsure, and times the road feels heavy. But that is exactly why we lean not on our own strength, but on God’s. We hold fast to this promise:

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
— Romans 8:28

It is a comfort to know we do not walk this path alone. We carry the trust placed in us, the support of our community, and the certainty that God is already at work in this service. We step forward with humble hearts, excited to see how He will weave our small efforts into something beautiful for His glory.

We are grateful to everyone who has supported us, and we invite your prayers as we serve this coming year. May everything we do honor God and reflect the love of Jesus in all we say and do.

Every morning is another chance given by God to His children. A chance to repent, reform, and renew; and above all, another day to witness and experience God’s love and protection.

And this is for those who believe in Him.

“Your story of success does not end with a single dream. Every achievement simply opens the door to another journey.”

The Adventist Ministry to Campus and University Students-Biliran Campus (AMiCUS-BC) celebrates with our current President, James Mark Dela Rosa, as he closes one meaningful chapter and steps toward another milestone.

More than a student, you became one of God’s faithful servants in BiPSU-Biliran Campus, carrying His light with every step and every act of service. The story of AMiCUS-BC would never be complete without your name woven into it.

Though your days as a university student may now come to an end, always remember that you will forever remain part of this family.

Continue walking in God’s light wherever life may lead you, and may this verse continue to guide your path:

“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
— Colossians 3:23

Congratulations, AMiCUS-BC President James Mark A. Dela Rosa!

When Abraham asked God what would He do to S***m and Gomorrah if there are still these numbers of people who are good — the number kept decreasing from 50 to 10, but — the Lord answered, “I won't destroy the city.” (Genesis 18:23-33)

Brethren, there are still thousands of people who also needs your prayer for salvation. For whom are you praying?

Sadly, the cities [S***m and Gomorrah] were filled with wickedness, and only Lot was found “good.” It did not even reach the “10 good people” which the Lord and Abraham had agreed upon. But God’s grace and Abraham’s plea saved Lot and his family. Genesis 19:29 says, “When God destroyed the cities of the valley where Lot lived, He remembered His promise to Abraham and saved Lot from the terrible destruction.”

Many people want to be [spiritually] mature or well-equipped, if not perfect; but only a few understand and are willing to endure the process. Among everyone around you, the Lord Himself wants what’s best for you. But you won't understand and appreciate the outcome if you don't undergo the journey of perfection.

SALVATION IN PRISON

"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, while the other prisoners listened. Suddenly,a strong earthquake shook the jail to its foundations. The doors opened, and the chains fell from all the prisoners."
~Acts 16:25-26

The walls and chains that held Paul and Silas represented the things or situations the enemy will throw to God’s people to keep them from preaching God’s true purpose. And many of His followers are imprisoned right now; beaten to weaken them spiritually, chained to keep them from doing His will, and isolated so no one could listen. So God gave us Paul and Silas’ story, to guide and prepare us for this moment.

Are you stuck in sorrow, distracted by happiness, or bound by something that weighs you down?

How wonderful the prisoners must have felt after witnessing God's power—that strong walls and heavy chains could actually be destroyed just through prayers and songs directed to the Savior—after being locked up, struggling for how many days, months, or years; they were set free.

You've been through a lot this whole week, you may not have realized it, but perhaps, you're also imprisoned in Satan's jail: distractions, problems and iniquities. And God is telling you a way to break free from everything—have faith and worship him.

That's why everyone who knows God and seeks the truth is blessed, because many are still struggling and lost but every Sabbath day, you are reminded and get to be freed from everything that's keeping you a prisoner of the world. Have faith and praise Him in your happy or dark moments; your prayers and songs are heard.

Acts 16:31 says, “They replied, ‘Have faith in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved! This is also true for everyone who lives in your home.’”

Happy Sabbath!

~Emmanuel
