𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘

The Guild for Environmental Science Students Enthusiasts (GESSE) proudly joined the educational public lecture and book launch, Secrets of Bohol's Flying Forest, held at the National Museum of the Philippines - Bohol on June 30, 2026.

Our heartfelt congratulations to our Program Chairperson, Dr. Reizl P. Jose for delivering an inspiring lecture on Bohol's remarkable biodiversity and for the successful launch of her co-authored book with Dr. Weena Mae Ampo. Her passion for environmental science continues to inspire students, educators, and environmental advocates to value, protect, and celebrate the richness of our natural heritage.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Anthony Penaso of Bohol Island State University, representatives from the Bohol Island Geopark, DENR and the BPEMO, together with faculty members of other schools, students from HNU, VSU, BISU-Candijay, BISU-Bilar and GESSE members.

More than a book launch and lecture, the event celebrated the beauty of biodiversity and highlighted how science can foster greater appreciation for diversity, inclusion, environmental stewardship, and our shared responsibility to conserve Bohol's unique wildlife and ecosystems.

GESSE is honored to have been part of this meaningful gathering and remains committed to promoting environmental awareness, scientific learning, and biodiversity conservation in our communities.

The remaining positions within the organization will soon be opened exclusively for our incoming freshmen, providing every new student with the opportunity to serve, lead, and make a meaningful impact in the Guild.
