📢 New Research Publication from Our Team

We are pleased to share our latest work on materials for energy storage!

📄 "Spider-egg-like structured α-MnO₂ as an efficient cathode material for aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion batteries"

In this study, we report a binder-free hydrothermal growth of α-MnO₂ directly on carbon fiber textile, forming a distinct spider-egg-like nanostructure. This direct-growth approach improves ion diffusion, charge transfer, and mechanical stability — key factors for the performance of aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion batteries (ARZIBs).

🔬 Highlights:

- Initial capacity: 367 mAh/g
- Stable discharge capacities across multiple C-rates
- 88.94% capacity retention after 350 cycles
- Nearly 100% Coulombic efficiency

This method offers a simpler and more environmentally friendly process for fabricating MnO₂-based cathodes without the need for binders or conductive additives.

Congratulations to the team:
Lyn Marie de Juan-Corpuz, Michael Esquilona Franco, Wei Jian Sim, Gil Nonato Santos, Tetsu Yonezawa, and Ryan D. Corpuz
