This year’s Angels Walk for Autism became another reminder of how powerful it is when people choose to show up for one another. Seeing thousands gather in one space carried a message bigger than the event itself—that people on the spectrum deserve to move through the world feeling accepted and welcomed exactly as they are. ✨

The College of Occupational Therapy extends its appreciation to everyone who became part of this year’s walk. To every student and faculty member who spent their morning with the community, thank you for helping make the event feel warm, present, and genuine from start to finish.

As future occupational therapists, experiences like this stay close to us. They continue to shape the kind of professionals we hope to become and the kind of spaces we want to help create moving forward. 🌈

The of 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 UPH-Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University proudly joined the 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, standing alongside more than 42,000 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 in support of autism awareness. ✨

Organized by the 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 (𝘈𝘚𝘗), the annual walk has continued to grow into a nationwide movement that brings together families, advocates, professionals, educators, and communities who believe in creating spaces where individuals on the spectrum are genuinely seen and supported. This year carried the theme “𝘼𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨. 𝘼𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙙𝙖. 𝘼𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙩.” — a call to move beyond awareness and into meaningful action. 🌈

ASP Chair Emerita Dang Koe shared that this year’s walk highlights individuals on the spectrum who continue to pursue their goals with purpose while advocating for an “𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮-𝘖𝘒 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦.”

From working on the sidelines to now serving at the forefront of care, our alumnus Charles Sebastian Lotho, OTRP reminds us that every step in the journey holds meaning. His story is one of resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to serve beyond self.

In the face of rising challenges, he continues to make care more accessible by offering free consultations to families in need—living out his purpose not just as a profession, but as a calling. As he shares, “This is no longer just a profession for me—it is a mission to heal, serve, and uplift others” 🤍
