The Langkiwa Emergency Response Unit (LERU) and the school's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) led a disaster preparedness activity titled "Fire Safety Readiness: Proper Handling and Use of Fire Extinguishers" to better prepare school personnel and learners for fire emergencies.

Organized by School DRRM Coordinator Leonard C. Manalo, the activity was held at Biñan City Senior High School–West Campus (BCSHS-West Campus) on Thursday, focusing on response procedures.

"If ever na may mangyari, alam na ng mga estudyante ang gagawin, hindi na para tumawag pa ng rescue o bumbero, hindi na para mag-panic pa, at hindi na para lumaki pa. Para dito palang sa'tin, alam na ang gagawin," LERU Rescue Responder Edmund Frias said.

He emphasized the importance of prioritizing fire safety among members of the school community, including students, teachers, and utility.

The activity also included an actual fire extinguisher demonstration, where school staff and learners were given the opportunity to use the equipment under supervision.

However, Frias noted that the demonstration alone was 'not enough' to prepare students for an actual emergency, as panic could affect their ability to apply what they had learned.

According to a Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) student who participated in the said activity, fire preparedness should go beyond extinguisher use, as not all schools may have access to the equipment, making fire prevention and hazard identification equally important.

"Importanteng magkaroon ng mga fire drills para maging aware tayo kung ano ba ang mga dapat sa mga sitwasyon na hindi natin maasahan... dapat din ituro kung paano mas maiiwasan ang sunog, katulad ng pag-spot ng mga hazard na maaaring magsimula ang mga disgrasya bago pa ito magsimula," the student added.

Frias then explained how the session provided covered only the 'basics,' emphasizing that actual application requires more extensive training.

"Sa actual, kahit anong ituro namin, kahit anong ituro sa inyo, 80% ay hindi niyo magagawa. Bakit? Andon ang panic," he said.

Frias encouraged to extend training period that would allow students to become more familiar with the procedures, helping reduce panic and maintain focus during an actual emergency.

As LERU acknowledges the gaps in short-term fire safety sessions, the local response unit continues to emphasize the need for proper training and preparedness for emergencies.

Itinanghal na kampeon ang ABM 12 Jedi Order sa idinaos na Grand Yell Competition para sa huling araw ng Intramurals 2026 nitong ika-9 ng Setyembre, sa Biñan City Senior High School - West Campus (BCSHS - West Campus) Gymnasium.

Nagpakitang-gilas ang ABM 12 Jedi Order sa kanilang Star Wars-themed na pagtatanghal kontra sa kanilang katunggali mula sa iba't ibang baitang at strand.

"Sa tingin ko, ang nagpapanalo rin talaga samin is yung drive naming mga Grade 12 ABM na at least on our last senior high school year and last na pag spend ng Intramurals sa West Campus ay ma-enjoy namin at maipakita na may maibubuga ang mga ABM students," opinyon ni Shaira Padayao, mag-aaral mula sa ABM 12 Jedi Order kung bakit nasungkit ang kampeonato.

Dagdag niya pa sa panayam, ito ang huling taon na kanilang mararanasan ang Intramurals kaya naman binigay na nila ang kanilang buong makakaya sa pagtatanghal.

"Grabe ang stress namin, especially nung mga naglelead kasi parang biglaan and maiksi ang time for preparation talaga for Grand Yell," paglalarawan ni Padayao sa kanilang naging suliranin sa umpisa ngunit paunti-unti ay naging handa na rin sila magpakitang-gilas sa araw ng kompetisyon.

Kumuha rin ng pansin sa mga hurado ang pagtatanghal sa Grand Yell Competition ng HUMSS 12 Justice League matapos itong tanghalin bilang 1st Runner-up habang 2nd Runner-up naman ang nakamit ng STEM 11 Olympian.

"At first, hindi mag sink in sa akin na nakuha namin ang titulo kasi alam namin na halos lahat lumaban at halos lahat may pinatunayan, pero I realized na ang naging resulta ay sumasalamin lamang sa ipinakitang husay ng mga humanista," saad naman ni Ashley Inguito ng HUMSS 12 Justice League matapos magkaroon ng pwesto sa Grand Yell Competition.

Ayon sa kaniya, nagtulungan ang bawat humanista kasama ang mga g**o nito upang mapaghandaan ang kompetisyon.

Para naman kay Dave Bangulan ng STEM 11 Olympians, ang kanilang pagkapanalo ay bunga ng pagtutulungan at dedikasyon ng buong koponan.

"Para sa akin, naging dahilan ng pagkapanalo namin ang teamwork, effort, at dedication ng buong STEM 11. Nagtulungan talaga kami at ibinigay ng bawat isa ang best nila sa performance. After naming manalo, sobrang saya at fulfilling kasi sulit lahat ng pagod at practice namin," aniya.

Nagpakita rin ng husay sa Grand Yell Competition ang HUMSS 11 Avengers, ABM 11 Nights Watch, at STEM 12 Fellowship, bagama't bigo nilang maiuwi ang parangal.

Matapos ang pagbida ng mga kalahok ng Grand Yell Competition, nagbigay ng medalya, sertipiko, at pagkilala sa mga mag-aaral na nanalo mula sa iba't ibang sports tulad ng basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, mobile legends (ML), call of duty (COD), chess, at iba pa.

Sa huling bahagi ng programa, inanunsyo ng Sports Coordinator na si Arvin L. Galang ang HUMSS 12 Justice League bilang "overall champion" ng Intramurals 2026, sumunod naman dito ang ABM 12 Jedi Order at STEM 11 Olympian.

Nasungkit ang titulong Back-to-back Champion ng Justice League ika-12 na baitang Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) laban HUMSS 11 Avengers, 81-80, sa idinaos na 2026 Intramurals Men's Basketball Championship, ika-9 ng Setyembre.

Kumubra ang manlalaro ng Justice League na si Dhelmark Delliezen nang pangunahan nito ang pagpapakawala ng tira. Nag-ambag din sina Keith Luis Claros, Troy William Mitchell at Maiden Christian Pasco ng tatlong puntos na nakatulong sa koponan.

Kapitan ng HUMSS 12 na si Jheferson Bangcaya ay mabilis din ang naging bawat galaw. Bagama’t iniikutan siya ng mga manlalaro sa kabilang koponan hindi ito naging hadlang para masungkit ang 41-33 sa ikalawang kwarter.

Bumulusok ang tensyon sa ikatlong yugto. Tig-isang manlalaro ng bawat koponan ay nagtamo ng injury, Kervyn Solis ng Justice League at kapitan ng Avengers na si Chrismark Yuan Baraquiel, sa kabila ng natamo nito, nagawa namang makahabol ng HUMSS 11, 59-52.

Samantala, hindi naman nagpahuli ang namamayagpag na back-to-back MVP na si Bangcaya, “Plano at nasa isip ko na ‘yon na nakaraang taon pa simula nanalo kami. Nakatatak na sa isip ko at ipinatatak ko sa isip nila [na] kailangan sa amin pa rin ang kampeon kasi gustong-gusto namin na sa strand [namin] ipagmalaki ang mga manlalaro ng Basketball sa Intramurals.”

Tumipa naman nang malakas na paglundag ang manlalarong si Carl Cyrus Bello upang maagaw ang bola mula sa katunggali. Ang paalala ng kanilang kapitan ay naging motibasyon sa mga manlalaro na nagpatuloy sa paglamang nila, 64-63.

Sa huling segundong natitira uminit ang agawan sa bola ng dalawang koponan at matagumpay na naiuwi ng Justice League HUMSS 12 ang titulo na may isang puntos na lamang sa HUMSS 11 Avengers, 81-80.

Bilang pagkilala sa ipinakitang husay sa larong basketball, ang mga manlalaro mula sa iba’t-ibang strand na sina Jheferson Bangcaya at Dhelmark Delliezen ng HUMSS 12, Justin Louis Talens at Jm Salomon ng Accountancy and Business Management 12 (ABM) at Ralf Advincula ng HUMSS 11 ay kabilang sa Mythical Five—sila ang mga natatanging manlalaro na nangibabaw sa buong kompetisyon ng 5v5 Men’s Basketball sa ginanap na Intramurals 2026.

ABM 12 Jedi Order emerged victorious over STEM 11 Red Olympians in a thrilling three-set battle for the Men’s Volleyball Championship of the 2026 Intramurals, with 26-24, 21-25, 15-9, at the Biñan City Senior High School–West Campus Gymnasium on Wednesday, September 9.

ABM 12 established an early advantage in the opening set, leading 12–9 as STEM 11 struggled with several errors. Some of the Red Olympians players also misread whether Jedi Order’s spikes were landing in or out, giving the senior team additional opportunities to build momentum.

The early lead also sparked a rivalry among the supporters. Grade 11 supporters began imitating the cheers and yells of the Grade 12 crowd, turning the gymnasium into an even louder and more competitive atmosphere.

STEM 11 refused to let the set slip away, eventually fighting back and tying the score at 24–24. However, a crucial mistake ended their comeback attempt when their setter caught the ball instead of setting it, allowing ABM 12 to capitalize and take the first set, 26–24.

Despite the pressure of the tight opening set, ABM 12 team captain Japoy Licaros said the team remained composed when every point became crucial. “Instead of panicking, we stayed focused, trusted each other, and followed our game plan,” Licaros said. “We reminded ourselves to stay calm and give our best until the last point.”

Stem 11 Red Olympians answered in the second set, trading attacks with ABM 12 Jedi Order through a series of long rallies, both sides repeatedly kept the ball in play, extending each exchange as they fought for the next point.

ABM 12 then committed consecutive net-touch errors, allowing STEM 11 to pull ahead, 20–16; despite the deficit, Jedi Order continued to close the gap as the set moved toward its final points.

ABM 12 mounted another comeback, leveling the score at 22–22 and putting the set back within reach. STEM 11, however, held its ground in the closing exchanges and secured the second set, 25–21, forcing a deciding set.

Licaros credited the team’s communication and encouragement for helping Jedi Order stay together through the momentum shifts. “Whenever someone made a mistake, we reminded them to move on and focus on the next play,”

“We believed that every player had an important role in the team, so we made sure that no one felt left behind.” he added.

With the championship hanging in the balance, ABM 12 immediately took charge in the final set; unlike the previous set, the Red Olympians was unable to establish a lead, Jedi Order maintained control from the early stages through the latter part of the deciding set, building an 11–5 advantage.

STEM 11 called a timeout to adjust its defense and slow down ABM 12’s lead. The adjustment helped the Grade 11 squad defend better, but ABM 12 continued to score through its offense.

As captain, Licaros also focused on keeping the team organized and maintaining the flow of their play throughout the deciding set. “I made sure that everyone understood our strategy, stayed in their positions, and remained focused,” he said. He added that he tried to “lead by example by staying composed and encouraging the team even during difficult moments.”

ABM 12 continued attacking until the final points, sealing the championship with a 15–9 victory in the deciding set.

With the final whistle, ABM 12 Jedi Order celebrated the hard-earned championship while STEM 11 Red Olympiams finished as a strong contender after pushing the senior team to the limit.

Nanguna ang talento at kumpiyansa nina Shane Escamillas ng HUMSS 12 at Remsej Grepo ng ABM 12 sa idinaos na Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2026 matapos nilang magwagi sa kompetisyon nitong ika-7 ng Setyembre, sa Biñan City Senior High School–West Campus (BCHSHS–West Campus) Gymnasium.

Pinangasiwaan ang patimpalak ng tatlong hurado na sina Jharred Sedundo, Jaymiezon Tiu, at Paul Gatchalian, habang nagtagisan ang mga kinatawan mula sa Baitang 11 at Baitang 12 upang maiuwi ang titulo ng Ms. and Mr. Intramurals 2026.

“At first, I actually don’t know what to feel. The first thing that came out of my mind was to thank God. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko, napapatanong ako sa sarili ko kung deserve ko ba ang title na ’yon. But then I realized na I did my best and ito yung naging bunga ng lahat ng pinagpaguran ko. I am so proud of myself dahil nakaya ko kahit sobrang kaba ang naramdaman ko,” pagbabahagi ni Escamillas sa panayam matapos ang kompetisyon.

Ayon kay Escamillas, siya ay baguhan pagdating sa pageant industry kaya naman noong una, siya ay nanibago sa kalakaran nito.

Samantala, para kay Grepo, ang kanyang pagkapanalo ay bunga ng determinasyon at suporta ng ABM 12.

“Ang pinakamalaking inspirasyon ko ay ang ABM 12 family. Sila ang dahilan kung bakit mas lalo kong pinaghusayan ang bawat galaw at bawat hakbang sa entablado. Gusto kong ipakita sa kanila na kaya kong magbigay ng isang performance na hindi lang maganda, kundi kahanga-hanga at karapat-dapat ipagmalaki. Ang suporta nila ang nagsilbing lakas ko sa laban na ito,” ani Grepo.

Dagdag niya pa na ang pagkapanalo bilang Mr. Intramurals 2026 ay katunayan na ang pagod para sa paghahanda, sakripisyo, at dedikasyon sa patimpalak ay "worth it".

"Para sa akin, hindi lang ito simpleng panalo, kundi proof na lahat ng pagod, sakripisyo, at dedication ay worth it,” pagbabahagi ni Grepo.

Ayon pa kay Grepo, ang layunin niya sa kompetisyon ay hindi lang basta sumali bagkus ipakita ang pag-unlad at tiwala sa sarili dahil noong una pa lang diumano ay pangarap niya ng sumali sa mga patimpalak tulad ng Mr. and Ms. Intramurals.

Bukod sa titulo, naiuwi rin Escamillas ang pagkilalang Best in Uniform Attire, Best in Production Wear at Best in Sportswear sa patimpalak.

Habang nakuha rin naman ni Grepo ang parangal bilang Best in Uniform Attire at Best in Sportswear.

Sumunod kila Escamillas at Grepo, ang 1st Runners-up ng patimpalak ay sina Rhian Rabino ng ABM 12 at Alexander Opeña ng HUMSS 12.

Para sa 2nd Runners-up, sina Jilienne Samson ng STEM 12 at Aldrich Jake Caldona ng STEM 11 ang nagkamit at ang 3rd Runners-up naman ay sina Sophia Principe ng HUMSS 11 at Dreed Placides ng ABM 11, habang ang tinanghal na 4th Runners-up ay sina Precious Tindugan ng ABM 11 at Jef Basallote ng HUMSS 12.

Napuno ng palakpakan at hiyawan ang Gymnasium mula sa mga mag-aaral at g**o bilang suporta sa kanilang kandidata at kandidato sa naturang patimpalak.

Matapos ang programa, napatunayan na Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2026 bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Intramurals ay isang pagkakataon para sa mga mag-aaral na maipakita hindi lamang ang kanilang talento at kumpiyansa, kundi maging ang kanilang kahusayan sa entablado.

𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐂𝐒𝐇𝐒-𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, 𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐮𝐛𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 2026

Ibinida ang kauna-unahang Ms. Gay Competition sa Biñan City Senior High School-West Campus (BCSHS-West Campus) bilang bahagi ng pagbubukas ng Intramurals 2026, ika-2 ng Setyembre, matapos ang ilang taong pagsasagawa ng aktibidad.

Pinangunahan ng Sports Club kasama ang Sports Coordinator na si Arvin L. Galang ang pagtataguyod ng mga aktibidad para sa Intramurals 2026 kabilang ang Ms. Gay Competition na nilahukan ng mga kandidata mula sa baitang 11 at 12 na kumatawan sa anim na koponan, ang Night’s Watch, Olympians, Fellowship, Jedi Order, Avengers, at Justice League.

"Actually mixed feelings ako before magsimula yung event. Nahihiya ako lumabas kase first time ever ko talaga sumali sa mga ganito and first time ko rin na mag-suot babae," saad ng nagwaging kandidata sa kompetisyon na si John Marc Asia mula sa ika-11 na baitang Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Ikinatuwa rin ni Asia ang pagiging inklusibo ng West Campus. Para sa kaniya, higit pa sa kompetisyon ang naging karanasan dahil sa 'safe space' at sa pagtanggap mula sa school community.

"I am so glad na yung inclusivity sa West ay talaga namang pino-promote. Grabe din yung support nung ibang tao sa event na ito. Makikita mo talagang safe space ang West, yung mga teachers and mga students," aniya.

Hiniling pa ni Asia na magtuloy-tuloy at paunlarin pa ang pagsasagawa Ms. Gay Competition dahil kinakailangan diumano ito ng susunod na henerasyon ng mga LGBTQIA+.

Samantala, ayon sa isang kandidata na mula sa ika-12 na baitang Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), magandang nagkaroon ng Ms. Gay Competition dahil nakikilala ang mga parte ng LGBTQIA+ community sa paaralan katulad niya.

"The best sa kanila na magkaroon sila ng first Ms. Gay Competition, para ma-recognize ang LGBTQIA+ people dito sa campus na katulad ko," ani nito.

Inumpisahan sa pagdarasal ang pagdiriwang sa pamamagitan ng interpretative dance ng g**ong si Joel Barolo habang ang mga atletang sina Ralph Andy Ornalesa, Elton John Zaballa at Jeff Bangcaya ang nagdala at nagsindi ng sulo upang opisyal na simulan ang Intramurals 2026.

Dinaluhan ang kaganapang ito ng mga g**o at mag-aaral bilang suporta sa aktibidad at sa mga kandidata ng Ms. Gay Competition.

Sa pagtatapos ng programa at ng kauna-unahang Ms. Gay Competition, nanatili ang hangarin ng mga kandidatang hindi rito magtatapos ang kompetisyon at muli pa itong maitatampok sa mga susunod na Intramurals.
