Stairs Painting: From 2016 Until Now

The "indigenous" designs at the stairs going to the stage of the covered court was painted by the Senior High School students of Besao NHS in 2016, when Besao hosted the DSPC. The "big" boys took turns in painting these stairs even until midnight. After 8 years, it is still there. It reminds me a lot of the good old days.

Eleven senior high school students from the HUMSS strand at Besao NHS stepped up as enthusiastic volunteers today, bringing their energy and passion to guide the eager elementary kids of Besao Central School!

Dubbed Project ISTORYA (Interactive Sessions to Optimize Reading and Youth Achievement) intends to create a long-term community-based reading program that will incorporate the community's diverse sectors as well as other stakeholders. The reading program will be administered after school hours in the afternoon and managed by teachers and teacher volunteers. The goal is to increase the reading levels of students, particularly those in kindergarten through grade two, and to provide study time for students in grades three through six, as well as interested secondary students.

Today's remedial lesson effectively laid the path for ongoing advancement in the following sessions.
