About mythology.

No need to talk of our ancestors as insane cavemen.
In categorising them like that you block yourself from ever understanding what they may have found so important that they wanted to tell us about it, and you try to sell your blockage to others.
The myth of the primeval paradise, the sin, paradise lost and the promise of regaining it is very much still alive in the common consciousness. Or unconsciousness!
Freud / Jung would interpret paradise as the early childhood where we lived symbiotic with our mother.
The feeling of sin/guilt is the internalised sorrow over the lost symbiosis. Paradise lost.
The fact that life gets more troublesome as consciousness matures, has its counterpart in the myth of the increasing sinfulness and final conclusion in 'the big flood' and Harmageddon with the promise of a regained paradise, the refound symbiosis.
Or final death followed by problemless life (symbiosis) in Heaven with God and the angles.
This arche-story can be found in all salvation religions and philosophies, political ideologies included.
Even the atheistic Marxism follow the scheme :
1. Primeval classless paradise
2. The origin of individual property ( = sin).
3. The growing tension between the owner-class and the proletariat.
4. Followed by a radical revolution ( = the big Flood / Harmageddon).
5. The promise of paradise regained :
Socialism! Ta Daa! With no fight of the classes ( = symbiosis)
It all fits! Every ingredience of the Judeo-Christian mythology is there!
Maybe our ancestors were not so unhealthy cave men?
Or we are still that!

"If I was a rich man....."
In some understandings of the world and life 'sharing' is a holy principle.
My muslim friends explain it to me this way:
If you are clever and hardworking you might get wealthy, even rich. That is OK, even laudable!
But you must share! You are not alone on a desert island.
Sharing doesn't mean you standing on your balcony throwing coins to the poor community around you.
If you have more land than you can manage growing yourself, hire people to work for you and give them a fair pay.
A fair pay means that their income working for/with you, will give them more than they would be able to create on their own.
That the true meaning of sharing your wealth!
This is where colonialism went wrong.
The English colonialists bought cheap cotton in "British" India and shipped it home to their own island, where they produced quality cotton clothes in big factories, and the shareholders got rich.
The Indians might buy fancy cotton clothes made in Great Britain, grown in India for money they earned growing / producing other commodities needed on the British market.
That's in short the story of all colonies and colonial Empires.
They failed sharing.
That's why the mahatma, Gandhi said :
"Wear home spun! Do not support the British!"
SHARE!

Koan:

The mountain

Ten men desided to climb a mountain, because they had been told that they would be able to see the whole world from its summit in one glimpse.
In the beginning they all went together, but by and by each of them chose their own path.
However all reached the summit and saw the world in one glimpse, except for the one who chose running around the foot of the mountain, shouting to the climbers where they went wrong.
Coming down from the summit the world looked as before. They said: "We were there! we saw it all in one glimpse!"
The one who was running around the foot of the mountain said:
"It's a Delusion!
I am the one seeing the real world!"

Polling for integrity 16/02/2024

International wrote yesterday about the election in Indonesia

Polling for integrity While people around the world celebrated Valentine’s Day, Indonesia held its latest presidential elections. However, amidst the festivities, the atmosphere was marred by a cloud of corruption scandals ahead of the election.
