Novozine tops R02 Journalism Awards

Novozine, the official publication of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Nueva Vizcaya, clinched top honors after being named the Best Edited and Most Detailed Division Publication with On-Time Credible News Delivery at the 2026 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) at Tumauini, Isabela, January 30.

The recognition was conferred on Dr. Octavio V. Cabasag, Chief, Education Supervisor of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), and Madam Maritess Baquiran, Chief Education Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) of SDO Isabela.

This milestone highlights SDO Nueva Vizcaya’s commitment to quality information standards, aligning closely with the RSPC 2026 theme, "Empowering Learners' Voices: Shaping the Future of Education Through Ethical Journalism."

Division Training Empowers Last Mile School Teachers Through Multigrade Program

In a significant stride toward inclusive education, the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya successfully conducted the Division Training of Untrained Last Mile School Teachers on the Multigrade Program from September 24 to 26, 2025 at the Nueva Vizcaya Teachers' Camp at Bagabag Teachers Camp, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.

Led by Dr. Marivic C. Bacud, the initiative aimed to equip educators serving in geographically isolated and underserved schools—known as Last Mile Schools—with the essential competencies to implement the Multigrade Program effectively.

The training focused on innovative teaching strategies, contextualized learning materials, and classroom management techniques tailored to multigrade settings.

Participants engaged in hands-on workshops, collaborative planning sessions, and peer learning activities designed to foster adaptability and resourcefulness in multigrade instruction.

The event also highlighted the Department of Education’s commitment to bridging educational gaps and ensuring that no learner is left behind, regardless of location.

This capacity-building effort is part of the division’s broader mission to sustain leadership through excellence and supremacy, as encapsulated in its 2025 mantra.
