LOOK || 6TH TRAINING DAY (1ST TERM EXAMINATION)

The Saint Maryโ€™s University ROTC Unit successfully administered its First Preliminary Examination for Basic Cadets on 19 September 2026 at the Tonus Gymnasium.

The assessment measured the cadetsโ€™ knowledge, comprehension, and overall preparedness based on lessons delivered during previous training sessions, ensuring that learning objectives for the term were effectively met.

The training day concluded with strong coordination under the guidance and support of NSTP Head Domingo T. Guntalilib Jr., the Training Staff and Graduate Military Assistants, as well as the Corps of Cadet Officersโ€”exemplifying discipline, teamwork, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in service and leadership.

LOOK || 5TH TRAINING DAY

Saint Maryโ€™s University Reserve Officersโ€™ Training Corps (SMU ROTC) Unit successfully conducted its 5th Training Day today, 12 September 2026.

The morning commenced at 0700H with the cadets gathering for formation, followed by a thorough check of attendance and an inspection of their proper military bearing.

The training immediately proceeded with practical drills, where cadets taught the basic ex*****on facing movements and marching commands. Following the field exercises, the cadets transitioned to classroom instruction. MSg Val Menardo D Basilio PA(Res) delivered an insightful lecture about Military Courtesy and Discipline. After which, it was resumed with Cpl Jessie P Pasamonte PA(Res) leading a session to deepen the cadets' understanding of the AFP Core Values.

The day concluded with a final formation for attendance verification and additional drill practice, focusing on facing movements. Under the active guidance and supervision of the SMU ROTC Training Staff, GMA Officers, and the Corps of Cadet Officers, the 5th Training Day ran seamlessly, further instilling military discipline, drill precision, and essential knowledge to the cadets.

Saint Maryโ€™s University (SMU) Reserve Officersโ€™ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit set a dignified tone for Gawad Maria 2026 by rendering honors through the Entrance of the colors as the opening highlight of the yearly recognition ceremony held on 09 September 2026 at 1400H in the Fr. Cornelius Tonus Gymnasium.

This annual recognition ceremony celebrates the unwavering dedication, hard work, and exceptional contributions of SMUโ€™s employees, who serve as pillars of excellence within the Marian community.

Leading the ceremonial presentation was C/MAJ Dan Edison F Dinolan 1CL, serving as Color Officer. The precise ex*****on of the Entrance of Colors reflected the discipline, respect, and patriotic spirit upheld by the SMU Corps of Cadets.

On 08 September 2026, the SMU ROTC Unit assisted and participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony organized by the School of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (SEAIT) at the Fr. Godfrey Lambrecht Stage (4 Pillars) of Saint Maryโ€™s University.
