NEWS | Nueva Vizcaya designated as Testing Center for Feb 2026 Criminology Licensure Exam
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has designated Nueva Vizcaya as one of the testing centers for the Criminology Licensure Examination scheduled for February 2026, Regional Director John D. Alilam of PRC Cagayan Valley announced.
According to Dir Alilam the designation was facilitated by Governor Atty. Jose "Jing" V. Gambito and is the product of a strong collaboration between the provincial government and the PRC. He added that, as with the province’s recent hosting of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), Nueva Vizcaya is a major source of criminology examinees — a factor that helped prioritize Bayombong as a testing site.
Alilam pointed out that Tuguegarao in Cagayan and Cauayan in Isabela have long been established testing centers in Region 2. Early this month, for the first time, Nueva Vizcaya also served as a testing center for the LEPT — an outcome Alilam attributed to Gambito’s coordination with the PRC.
Governor Gambito expressed gratitude for the PRC’s approval, calling the designation “a big help” not only to examinees from Nueva Vizcaya but also to their families. He noted that local examinees will no longer need to spend on long-distance transportation or overnight lodging, allowing parents to save money and candidates to take the exams more comfortably. “This is a concrete step toward expanding access to professional opportunities for our youth,” Gov Gambito added.
Prospective examinees for the Criminology board exam may file their applications at the PRC offsite center located at Nightingale Hall, Provincial Capitol, Bayombong. The PRC offsite center was also established in Nueva Vizcaya following Gov. Gambito’s advocacy to help local professionals access PRC services more conveniently.
