"Psychological First Aid (PFA) is more than a skill, it is a compassionate response that helps reduce stress in times if crisis."

Last Wednesday (November 19), the MPCO conducted their 2nd intensive training for PFA. The MPC members did not only gain basic knowledge about PFA, but also learned the essential and basic skills through role playing and simulation.

Together, the Marian Kapeerkadas are now prepared as psychological first aiders, ready to serve with calmness, empathy, and compassion!

In consideration of PAGASA’s latest advisory on Super Typhoon Uwan, Saint Mary’s University has suspended work and face-to-face classes for Basic Education and Higher Education on Saturday, November 8, 2025 and Monday, November 10, 2025 to ensure the safety of the community.

Graduate Studies classes may proceed asynchronously.

Everyone is advised to take necessary precautions, stay updated with official weather announcements, and keep communication lines open. The safety and well-being of our Marian community remains our top priority.

Are you ready to learn essential life-saving skills and make a difference?

The Marian Peer Counselors Organization (MPCO) invites you to a Psychological First Aid Training this November 12, 2025 (Wednesday), 7:30–11:30 AM at the Guidance Testing Office (GTO). In this training, you’ll learn how to stay calm in stressful situations, listen with empathy, and offer the right kind of support when someone’s struggling emotionally or mentally.

Let’s continue being the helping hands and listening hearts that bring light in times of need.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆: 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀

Due to rising cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and Influenza-like Illness (ILI), all employees, students, and visitors are advised to observe the following health protocols:

• Wear a medical-style face mask when interacting with others at close range (less than 1 meter).

• Ensure proper mask use, covering both nose and mouth.

• If experiencing symptoms such as cough, colds, fever, or sore throat, wear a mask and avoid close contact with others.

• Contact or visit the medical clinic for consultation if needed.

These measures are recommended by the University Health Services Office in coordination with the Department of Health.
