The third-year nursing students of Saint Mary’s University are currently undergoing final preparations for their upcoming Midyear Affiliation. Serving as a critical bridge between classroom theory and bedside care, this deployment will send the incoming Level III interns across various partner hospitals and institutions in Metro Manila to sharpen their clinical judgments and skills.

Armed with their knowledge, values, and the distinct Marian brand of care, the BSN III batch is ready to hit the ground running.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄| 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐞’𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝-𝐎𝐟𝐟

The Nursing Department of Saint Mary’s University conducted its send-off ceremony—the clinical graduation for Batch 2026—on June 5, 2026, at the Rev. Fr. Cornelius Tonus Gymnasium.

The event began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by the University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Nemesio Huesca, CICM at the Mary Seat of Wisdom Chapel.

During the program, the guest speaker, a proud alumnus of the university and the current Public Health Nurse of the municipality of Villaverde, Atty. John Warry O. Alvendia, RN, highlighted that “Nursing is not merely a job; it is not defined by the uniform we wear, the pay you receive, or the recognition you get.”

“It is, at its very core, a story of service, of sacrifice, and of love,” he added.

He reminded the batch not to see nursing merely as a path to earn high salaries, but urged them to serve with utmost passion, integrity, and accountability, and to be of service to the people on the ground—especially the marginalized.

A warm highlight of the event was the serenade to the parents, where the graduating Marian nursing students expressed their heartfelt gratitude through letters, flowers, and gifts, honoring the families who served as their ultimate support system throughout their arduous journey.

Furthermore, various awards were presented to the nursing graduates who excelled in areas such as excellence, innovation, communion, and passion for Christ's mission. Among the awardees was Ms. Angelica Garra, the outgoing MNS President, who was recognized as the Most Outstanding Nursing Graduate.

Moreover, a rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Long Live” was sung by the batch, symbolizing their hard-fought victory in this academic chapter and their shared bond as they move toward the board examinations.

The send-off ceremony represents the culmination of the students' academic journey in nursing, serving as a formal commissioning to manifest the core values of a Marian nurse far beyond the boundaries of the university.

On June 5, 2026, during the Send-Off Ceremony of Batch Laudes Mariae 2026, outstanding Nursing Clinical Graduates were recognized for their excellence, dedication, and remarkable achievements throughout their clinical journey.

These awards serve not only as symbols of academic and clinical competence but also as testaments to the countless hours of sacrifice, perseverance, and commitment to compassionate patient care. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor every graduate who has embraced the values of service, integrity, and excellence in the nursing profession.
