The Radio Management Training was conducted on January 24, 2026, at the CICM Covered Court to enhance traineesโ understanding of proper radio communication during emergency situations. The session began with a morning exercise, followed by a comprehensive lecture facilitated by Sir Roumel Estimada and Sir Fernando Castriciones, who discussed correct radio etiquette, call signs, message structure, and discipline in radio usage.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of accurate and timely communication to ensure coordinated and effective emergency response. Practical examples and situational discussions allowed trainees to visualize real-life applications of radio protocols and understand their critical role in avoiding confusion during emergencies.
Participants found the training informative and essential, reporting improved confidence and discipline in radio communication. The objectives of the activity were achieved as trainees demonstrated greater preparedness and appreciation for effective communication in emergency response operations.

The 6th SHERT training at November 22 started at 0630 with a warm-up exercise consisting of upper and lower-body extremities that lasted until 0730. All present SHERT trainees, along with MERT trainees, moved at the Tonus Gymnasium for the lecture portion of the Basic Firefighting Training at 0830. Afterwards, a Hands-On Fire Extinguishing event took place around the SMU Oval, consisting of using a fire extinguisher and a fire hydrant.
The Afternoon training then proceeded albeit with only two trainees, consisting of victim retrieval and revitalization trainings using a Kendrick Extrication Device (KED) and a dummy Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) kit. The afternoon session concluded after a group rescue simulation consisting of two unconscious victims and one conscious victim; MERT and SHERT trainees demonstrated exceptional performance in retrieving the victims.

The most awaited day of Synergism 2025 finally arrived. Despite the rain, students, faculty, and staff gathered once again to celebrate with unwavering spirit. The day began with morning praise and worship, followed by Palarong Panlahi, a showcase of traditional Filipino games that brought joy and camaraderie to the campus. Basketball games energized the morning, while the afternoon was reserved for the much-anticipated pageant that lit up the stage with talent and pride.
Throughout the entire celebration, the Marian Emergency Response Team (MERT) stood side by side with the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT), working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Their dedication, vigilance, and teamwork were instrumental in the success of Synergism 2025.
Heartfelt gratitude goes out to every member who contributed their time, energy, and commitment to serve the school community. Their efforts reinforced the values of safety, readiness, and responsibility โ making Synergism not just a celebration, but a reflection of unity and care.

The second day of Synergism 2025 began with a morning praise followed by the awarding of winners in athletics, swimming, tennis, and badminton. The excitement continued with an e-game tournament, billiards matches, and various championship games. As the day progressed, the most anticipated part of the program unfolded โ the cultural events featuring vibrant dance performances and heartfelt singing that brought the crowd to life.
Throughout the day, the Marian Emergency Response Team (MERT) and the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) worked relentlessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees. Their presence provided reassurance and support, allowing the festivities to run smoothly and securely.
This continued effort highlighted the teamsโ dedication to their mission. By staying alert and prepared, they upheld their commitment to serve the school community and promote safety, readiness, and responsibility.

On October 22, 2025, Saint Maryโs University Senior High School launched Synergism 2025, a dynamic celebration filled with movement, spirit, and school pride. Saint Maryโs University Senior High School (SMU-SHS) joined the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on September 11, 2025, highlighting evacuation route familiarization and the proper โDrop, Cover, and Holdโ procedure.
At 8:00 AM, students and staff promptly followed safety protocols and evacuated to their designated areas. The drill was supervised by Mrs. Michelle B. Pagaduan, Coordinator for DRRM, Safety, Sanitation, and Pollution Control.
Mr. Melencio G. Bernardino Jr., SMU-SHS Principal, commended the participants for completing the evacuation in under five minutes, while Mr. Christian Nel R. Dominguez, POD for Men, emphasized the importance of discipline and preparedness during emergencies.

On October 21, 2025, Saint Maryโs University Senior High School celebrated a day of faith and cultural appreciation through two significant events โ the Living Rosary and the United Nations Celebration.
The day began with the Living Rosary at the SMU Tonus Gym, where students, dressed in ethnic attire, united in prayer to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, reflecting devotion, peace, and solidarity. This was followed by a lively Cultural Fashion Presentation that highlighted global diversity through traditional costumes, performances, and advocacies promoting cultural awareness.
Throughout these activities, the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) maintained safety and order, embodying service, discipline, and the Marian values of unity and compassion. Together, these events showcased faith in action and unity in diversity โ a true reflection of SMUโs mission to nurture spirituality and respect for all cultures.

Together with the Marian Emergency Response Team (MERT) and the Junior Marian Emergency Response Team (JMERT), the Senior High School Emergency Response Team (SHERT) held its sixth day of training on October 18, 2025. The session began with a lecture on the fundamentals of ropesmanship, led by Sir Kim Jerric Ogaya and continued by Sir Dave Vincent Marcelo. Trained members also served as facilitators throughout the session.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to mass casualty management. A simulation was conducted, engaging trainees in realistic scenarios that required the application of their knowledge and skills. Through this hands-on experience, participants were able to practice coordination, decision-making, and emergency response under pressure.
The training not only enhanced technical competencies but also reinforced the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and the core values of a first aider. Ultimately, the session strengthened each traineeโs commitment to promoting safety, readiness, and responsibility within the community.

While the spotlight was on honoring culture, community, and educators, members of the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) worked quietly in the background to ensure that safety remained a top priority throughout the event.
From crowd monitoring to first aid readiness, SHERT trainees stayed alert and prepared to respond to any situation โ serving the school community while reinforcing their commitment to preparedness, responsibility, and the promotion of safety.

On October 11, 2025, the Marian Emergency Response held a Basic Life Support (BLS) training led by Mr. Denn Mark Soriano. The session began with an introduction to the fundamentals of BLS, its definition, importance, and proper ex*****on.
The training continued with a discussion on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), covering when and how it should be performed. Trainees later participated in a return demonstration supervised by Mr. Xandrick Allan Perez as well as MERT and SHERT facilitators, allowing them to apply what they learned in a hands-on activity, testing their understanding on the topics they have learned.
In the later part of the lecture, Mr. Dave Vincent Marcelo, assisted by Mr. Kim Jerric Ogaya, discussed additional BLS topics. To assess the participantsโ understanding, Mr. Regie Aquimba administered a 25-item quiz. The training ended successfully enhancing the traineesโ knowledge and readiness to respond in life-threatening emergencies.
