The Great Wall of Wisdom: 2026 Quiz Bee Competition was a resounding success! 🏆

Held last March 25, 2026 at IM 202, the event was filled with the energetic cheers of our SPFL participants. It's a battle of wit, precision, and cultural mastery that tested students across all grade levels on their Chinese proficiency, specifically focusing on Vocabulary, Pinyin and Hanzi.

𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒕𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 | NVGCHS clinches podium finishes in 2026 RFOT; Gurat, Butale advance to national level

Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School (NVGCHS) showcased outstanding diversity of talent as it secured multiple podium finishes in the 2026 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) hosted by SDO (Schools Division Office) Quirino in Cabarrougis, Quirino.

Russel T. Gurat clinched the championship title in the Bidyokasiya event under the coaching of Erwin D. Dumelod, earning a spot in the national level competition.

Jamaica B. Butale emerged as the Overall Champion in Chinese Mandarin at the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) Lingo Stars competition after winning the Chinese Mandarin Exhibition, under the coaching of Divina B. Butale and Romelee Shayne A. Acoba, and advancing to the national level.

Zamira S. Toralba earned 3rd Runner Up in the Chinese Mandarin Singing Idol category with the support of coach Leonor T. Jacinto.

Furthermore, Mariana Bless A. Pajalla secured 3rd Runner Up in the Spanish category under the guidance of coach Eunicezha D. Ferrer.

Meanwhile, Juwel S. Piedad claimed 3rd Runner Up in the Spanish Singing Idol category, coached by Dexter Shean G. Labitoria.

The STEMazing team composed of Aaron Dave Labao, Sophia Angela Maribbay, and Vrienn Ezrah Karl Viernes secured 5th place, under the guidance of Marizza C. Versola and Jaime Ace Acosta, showcasing creativity and scientific innovation.

Alexis Averey Bacani placed 4th in the HistoPop category with the guidance of coach Michele Aira Murayag.

The Likhawitan team, composed of Jaymer Reign B. Jenetiano, Kathleen Ryza Camille M. Agguid, and Kshatriya Viana Lorisse T. Bacal, finished in 6th place under coach Rose Ann Pascua.

Adding to the school’s success, SDO Nueva Vizcaya was awarded 3rd Runner-Up Overall in the regional competition.

CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO — Showcasing a stellar display of linguistic talent and cultural mastery, the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya emerged as a force to be reckoned with at the 2026 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) - Lingo Stars, held on January 21, 2026.

The highlight of the event was the dominant performance of 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗕. 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲 from 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝘇𝗰𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗡𝗩𝗚𝗖𝗛𝗦), who was adjudged as 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻. Jamaica’s victory in the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) category was the result of rigorous preparation and the expert mentorship of her coaches, 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗟. 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲 and 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝗔. 𝗔𝗰𝗼𝗯𝗮.

Beyond the championship title, Nueva Vizcaya’s "Lingo Stars" secured several podium finishes, demonstrating the division's well-rounded excellence in both language and the performing arts:

𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 (𝗦𝗣𝗙𝗟): 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔. 𝗣𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮 showcased her fluency and command of the language, bagging 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽 alongside coach 𝗘𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘇𝗵𝗮 𝗗. 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗿.

𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗱𝗼𝗹: 𝗝𝘂𝘄𝗲𝗹 𝗦. 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗱 charmed the audience and judges alike, securing 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽 with the guidance of coach 𝗗𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗚. 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮.

The success of the delegation underscores SDO Nueva Vizcaya's commitment to its 2026 battlecry of "Sustaining Leadership through Excellence, Supremacy, and Resilience to be Rich in 2026." By excelling in the SPFL categories, these students have not only brought pride to their home province but have also proven themselves as globally competitive learners capable of bridging cultural and linguistic gaps.

As the Regional Festival of Talents concludes, the "Lingo Stars" of Nueva Vizcaya return home as inspirations to their fellow students, proving that dedication to specialized programs can lead to regional glory.

The SPFL Babies delighted their lǎoshīmen during the Teacher's Day celebration with a heartfelt performance of the Chinese song, "Listen To Me, Thank You," and giving them cakes, gifts and personal letters.
