| Distinguished Speakers Explore the Very Scenic University

The distinguished plenary speakers of Kinetika at Kultura 2026 took a moment away from the conference halls to experience the scenic beauty, rich symbolism, and iconic landmarks of Visayas State University (VSU). Together with the IHK faculty and staff, they explored some of the University’s most significant sites and experienced the beauty of our beloved campus.

Their university tour began at the VSU Main Gate, where they were welcomed by the iconic Twin Obelisks, among the University’s most recognizable landmarks. These structures symbolize VSU’s academic programs and its mandate for rural development. The southern obelisk features an image of the “God of the Sun,” representing agriculture and allied fields, while the other depicts the “God of Lightning and Thunder,” symbolizing technology, innovation, and the University’s continuing pursuit of excellence.

They then continued to the Main Administration Building, where the speakers visited the iconic Search for Truth. Serving as an emblem of VSU’s purpose and existence, the monumental figures of a man and a woman symbolize partnership in the pursuit of truth and knowledge and remains one of the University’s must-see landmarks for visitors.

Beyond sharing their expertise and insights during the conference, our distinguished speakers also had the opportunity to experience the history, symbolism, and natural beauty that make VSU truly special.
