According to the latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) by Transparency International, the Philippines ranks as the 3rd most corrupt country in Southeast Asia out of a total of 11 nations.

The CPI scores 180 countries worldwide on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).

The PH Score: 32 out of 100

Global Rank: 120th out of 180 countries

ASEAN's Bottom 3: Myanmar (16), Cambodia (20), and the Philippines (32).

Global analysts and the latest report point to massive public outrage over systemic issues. Millions of pesos are allegedly lost to GHOST projects, substandard public infrastructure (like the controversial flood control budgets), and weak law enforcement when it comes to holding officials accountable for kickbacks.
