Araw ng Kagitingan is a national holiday in the Philippines observed every April 9 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of Filipino and American soldiers during World War II, especially in the historic Bataan Death March.

It is celebrated to remember the courage, resilience, and patriotism shown by those who fought for the country’s freedom despite overwhelming challenges. The day also serves as a reminder for Filipinos to value peace, unity, and love for the nation, inspired by the heroism of those who came before them.

Today, BCNNHS Grades 10 & 12 attended a Recollection, Confession, and Holy Mass. It was conducted as part of the values restoration program in a meaningful spiritual activity that nurtures both the mind and the heart of learners as they prepare for a new chapter in life.

The recollection provides a time for reflection, allowing students to look back on their journey, recognize their strengths and shortcomings, and renew their commitment to live with integrity, gratitude, and purpose. It encourages inner peace and a deeper awareness of God’s presence in their lives.

The confession (Sacrament of Reconciliation) offers an opportunity for spiritual cleansing and healing. Through this, learners seek forgiveness, experience God’s mercy, and are guided to make better choices anchored in moral values.

The Holy Mass serves as the culmination of the activity, where students give thanks for their achievements and receive blessings for their future endeavors. It strengthens their faith and reminds them to carry with them the values of love, humility, and service as they move forward.

Overall, todays’ spiritual activity helps restore and reinforce the core values of the learners, shaping them into responsible, faith-driven individuals ready to face life’s challenges.
