CALLING ALL CHOIRS | As we enter the sacred season of Advent and prepare for “Misa de Gallo” and “Simbang Gabi”, the parish gently reminds all choirs and music ministries that sacred music is a form of prayer, service, and unity, not performance.

In line with the pastoral guidance of our Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Agustin V. Ancajas, choirs are encouraged to choose music that is liturgically appropriate, faithful to the Advent season, and at the same time joyful, meaningful, and engaging, helping the lays & parishioners pray and sing together, especially in the early morning celebrations of Misa de Gallo. Through his months of leadership and service, Msgr. Ting has lovingly reminded us that music must always serve the Holy Mass.

This call echoes the teaching of the Church. Pope Leo XIV recently emphasized that sacred music should mirror the unity of the Church, while the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) and CBCP guidelines affirm that liturgical music must support the sacred action and foster prayerful participation. Especially during Advent, may our songs reflect simplicity, hope, and joyful waiting. Let all music be properly coordinated and duly approved, for the good of our worshipping community.
