One of the perennial problems faced by our Part-Time faculty members is the delayed compensation for their hard work. Hence, the CAS Dean, Dr. Glenn G.Pajares, crafted and forwarded a proposal to the VSU administration to compensate our Part-Time faculty twice a month.

This is a winning move for our beloved institution to dispense quality service to our employees and students.

Thank you, Sir Glenn, for this initiative! We also thank our VP for Academic Affairs, and University President for standing with our unsung heroes.

The College of Arts and Sciences Dean hosted the first CAS General Faculty Meeting to welcome the new academic year at the RDEI Hall, held yesterday, August 13, 2024.

Dean Glenn provided insight into the college's current status with regard to faculty development, research, extension, publications, and student population. He emphasized the importance of research and extension for CAS Faculty and encouraged their active involvement. It was also an opportune moment for all of us to get to know each other, considering that CAS is one of the biggest colleges in the university.

The Director for Research, Dr. Ivy Emnace, was also invited to address faculty queries during the open forum.

All departments under the college were present: Dept. of Arts, Languages, and Literature, Dept. of Biological Sciences, Dept. of Biotechnology, Dept. of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Dept of Mathematics, Dept. of Statistics, Dept. of Physics, and Dept. of Philosophy and Social Sciences.

The Department of Arts, Languages, and Literature congratulates our new full-fledged Doctor of Education in English Language Teaching, Dr. Daisy P. Acoritay. She is the recipient of the Best Dissertation Award for her research “Modular Instruction Beyond the Classrooms: English Professors' and Students’ Experiences" in the 95th Commencement Exercises of Cebu Normal University held on May 28, 2024 at the International Eucharistic Center Cebu City.
