๐Being a leader is not simply a position; it is an obligation and responsibility.
Our dedicated officers attended the Student Leadership Summit 2026 at RDE Hall, Visayas State University, carrying this yearโs theme: โSerbisyong Studyante: Leading Through Service, Volunteerism, and Purpose.โ
The summit reminded them that leadership goes beyond titles and positions. It is about serving with commitment, volunteering with compassion, and leading with purposeโinfluencing others. Leaders aren't called to be served, but to serve. They must uphold collaboration, and ignite collective responsibility.
The speakers shared meaningful and relevant practical lessons. That includes and is not limited to: proper organization management, and handling important documents and reports, especially those prepared by secretaries and financial officers. Higlighting those as tools governing organization's health and success.
Moreover, awareness on legal matters especially the Anti-Hazing Law, and discussion on the mandatory safety focused on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). Most importantly, a very interactive discussion on prioritizing mental well-being despite the responsibilities and obligations as student leaders.
Through this experience, they are reminded to continue learning, serving, and leading, not for the position, but for the people they represent.
As what Dr. Aleli Villocino said: "Thanks for the leadership and opportunity to serve!"
