Su***de prevention begins with creating spaces where individuals feel free to acknowledge and release the burdens they carry. Many people live with hidden emotional baggage โ stress, grief, unresolved pain, that, if left unaddressed can lead to helplessness and hopelessness.
In line with this, the GIYA Center has installed Emotional Baggage Counters that will stand as a visible commitment to mental health advocacy. By inviting students, faculty, and staff to deposit their emotional loads, this simple initiative promotes self awareness, encourages vulnerability, and normalizes help-seeking behavior.
This is a reminder that no one needs to carry their struggles alone, healing is possible, support systems exist and that acknowledging oneโs pain is a courageous step toward resilience. ๐
