We proudly welcome Dr. Shamir Y. Jakaria, MMPA, CSPE, International University Lecturer at the College of Politics and Governance, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), Bangkok, Thailand, to the ERIO community!

Dr. Jakaria is a dedicated educator, researcher, and international academic whose professional journey reflects a strong commitment to teaching, research, public administration, governance, and lifelong learning. He holds the distinction of being the first Filipino International University Lecturer in the College of Politics and Governance at SSRU, representing a meaningful milestone in international academic representation.

At Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Dr. Jakaria teaches English for Political Science, facilitating discussions on social concerns, national and international affairs, political developments, and issues affecting the global community. His teaching approach connects academic concepts with contemporary realities while encouraging students to think critically and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Silliman University and his Master’s degree in Management (MMPA) from Philippine Christian University. He later completed his Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) at Greenville College, Philippines, where he was recognized as a Research Awardee for Best Dissertation.

Further strengthening his preparation in language education, Dr. Jakaria completed a 150-hour TESOL Certificate from Arizona State University, USA. He also holds Civil Service Professional Eligibility (CSPE), reflecting his continued pursuit of professional competence and career development.

Beyond teaching, Dr. Jakaria is actively involved in research and scholarly publication, with academic interests spanning Political Science, Public Administration, Digital Governance, governance and public institutions, technology, education, and society.

Through his international academic experience, research engagement, public administration expertise, and cross-cultural exposure, Dr. Jakaria continues to contribute to meaningful academic exchange and the development of globally responsive education.

We proudly welcome Dr. Miguela L. Dealagdon, Head Teacher III at Mabitac Integrated National High School, to the ERIO community!

Dr. Dealagdon is a dedicated educator, school leader, and program coordinator with a strong academic background in educational management, technology and home economics, and agricultural education.

She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Education, major in Educational Management, in 2025, her Master of Arts in Education, major in Technology and Home Economics, in 2015, and her Bachelor of Agricultural Education, major in Animal Science, in 1994. She also successfully passed the Professional Board Examination for Teachers in 1994.

As Head Teacher III, Dr. Dealagdon plays an important role in instructional leadership, school program implementation, teacher support, and learner development. Her wide range of responsibilities reflects her strong commitment to holistic and responsive education.

She currently serves in several key coordinating roles, including Health and Nutrition Coordinator, Rural Farm School Coordinator, Technology and Livelihood Education Coordinator, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Coordinator, Wash in School (WINS) Coordinator, Senior High School Coordinator, Immersion Coordinator, and Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP) Coordinator.

Through these diverse responsibilities, Dr. Dealagdon contributes to programs that strengthen technical-vocational education, health and wellness, work immersion, agricultural learning, school-community engagement, and career readiness among learners.

We proudly welcome Dr. Neil Arvin V. Bautista, Cultural Exchange Teacher at Richland County School District One in Columbia, South Carolina, to the ERIO community!

Dr. Bautista is a dedicated educator, special education professional, researcher, and lifelong learner committed to promoting inclusive, equitable, and meaningful learning opportunities for students with diverse educational needs.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from New Era University in 2016, followed by a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision in 2020. He also completed the academic requirements for a Master’s in Special Education and Inclusive Education in 2022. In 2025, he successfully earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education and Inclusive Education, marking an important milestone in his academic and professional journey.

Currently serving as a Special Education teacher in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Bautista brings together classroom experience, educational leadership, cross-cultural teaching, and research to support learners with special needs in an international setting.

His academic and research interests include special education, inclusive education, educational leadership, culturally responsive teaching, teacher adaptability, and evidence-based instructional practices. His doctoral research, titled “Exploring the Adaptability of Foreign Special Education Teachers Working with Students with Special Needs in Columbia, South Carolina,” examines the experiences, challenges, and adaptive practices of international special education teachers working within the American educational system.

Through this research, Dr. Bautista seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of teacher adaptability, cross-cultural experiences, and effective approaches to supporting students with special educational needs.

As an educator and researcher, he strongly believes in bridging research and practice. He advocates for educational research that responds to real challenges faced by teachers and learners and ultimately contributes to more effective, inclusive, and equitable educational practices.

We proudly welcome Derick D. Villasoto, Instructor at the Philippine Normal University South Luzon (PNUSL), to the ERIO community!

Mr. Villasoto is a dedicated educator and researcher currently serving as a faculty member of the Faculty of Teacher Development at PNUSL. His academic journey reflects a strong commitment to teacher education, mathematics instruction, curriculum development, and educational research.

He earned his Bachelor in Elementary Education, with concentration in Home Technology and Livelihood Education, from PNUSL and distinguished himself by placing 10th in the September 2016 Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT). He also completed units in Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Biological Science, and earned his Master of Arts in Education, major in Mathematics Teaching, from Marinduque State University in 2023.

Before joining the university, Mr. Villasoto served in the Department of Education for nine years, where he contributed to curriculum implementation, teacher development, classroom instruction, and educational research.

As a researcher, he has published three peer-reviewed studies in mathematics education, demonstrating his continued engagement in scholarly work and evidence-based teaching practice. His academic interests include mathematics education, teaching and learning, instructional innovation, curriculum development, and educational research.

Through his work in teacher education and research, Mr. Villasoto continues to support the development of competent future educators while promoting innovative, reflective, and research-informed approaches to teaching and learning.

Mr. Catud is a dedicated educator, research instructor, emergency medical professional, and Navy Reservist whose diverse professional background reflects a strong commitment to education, service, discipline, and lifelong learning.

With nine years of experience as a research instructor, Mr. Catud has actively contributed to strengthening research competence among students. He has presented scholarly work in local research conferences and has likewise trained and mentored students in preparing and presenting their own research at academic conferences.

Through his work in research education, he continues to promote critical thinking, scholarly inquiry, academic communication, and evidence-based learning, helping students develop the confidence and skills needed to engage meaningfully in the research community.

Beyond the academe, Mr. Catud is also a Certified Emergency Medical Technician and a Navy Reservist holding the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
