GENETICS = study ng HEREDITY, inherited traits, and gene variation.
• HEREDITY is yung passing of traits (physical or mental characteristics) between generations. That's why sa genetics natin maiintindihan kung paano yun nangyayari.
Dominance = relation between two alleles of a gene and the associated phenotype. A strong feature of a dominant gene which paired up with another strong gene to one organism.
Recessive = ito yung weak allele na dala-dala ng parents mo either sa maternal or paternal. Ito yung hindi ma-o-obeserve dahil mas lumalabas ang dominant side sa gene mo. Kahit present yung recessive allele sa GENOTYPE mo, hindi yun makikita sa PHENOTYPE dahil yun ay PHYSICAL APPEARANCE ng isang individual, and dominance trait ang ma-o-obeserve sa single person. Dalawa ang pwedeng kahahantungan ng isang recessive allele.
(1) Una is HOMOGENOUS RECESSIVE (hh) which means dalawang recessive ang nag-pair up;
(2) Pwede ring HETEROGENEOUS RECESSIVE (Hh) which means may isang dominant at isang recessive, dito matatabunan lang ng dominant ang recessive allele natin which means hindi parin observable si recessive.
