𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟭 marks the 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆 and the Filipino honor the life and death of a hero who sacrifices his life for the Nation's freedom. On this day in 1983, Ninoy returned home, fully aware of the dangers that awaited him, yet resolute in his belief that ‘𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳.’ His assassination marked a turning point in our history which aroused the collective spirit of the Filipino people to stand up and fight and reclaim the democracy that was lost.

𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is a day of reflection of the virtues of courage, freedom and selfless service to the nation. It is a day to remind that democracy is not given, but is fought, guarded and nurtured. Our freedom today is reflected in the sacrifice of people who had the courage to dream of a better country even to the point of losing their lives.
