Kablaaw! Along the green Kennon Road, visitors are greeted by one of Baguio’s iconic landmarks, the Lion’s Head. This 40-foot limestone monument serves as one of the city’s significant cultural symbols. Known as “Apo”, which means “elder” or “wise one”, the Lion’s Head has blessed visitors with guidance and wisdom. But did you know it had different colors? In the 1960s, the Baguio Lions Club painted the lion yellow, white and black. Since then, it has undergone various restoration efforts to preserve its grandeur, including the major overhaul in response to the 1990 Luzon Earthquake. 𝓕𝓾𝓷 𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓽❗Mayon is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines, with its most destructive eruption occurring in 1814, which buried the town of Cagsawa.
