A Proud Moment for BatStateU Pablo Borbon!

The Office of the Sports Development Program – Pablo Borbon Campus extends its deepest gratitude to the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Batangas City for recognizing the outstanding achievements of our student-athletes from Batangas State University – The National Engineering University, Pablo Borbon Campus.

During today’s regular session, Monday, July 21, 2025, held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, Hon. Zester Carlo M. Hernandez filed a resolution honoring two of our very own champions:

🎖️ Mr. Mark Owen B. Driz (College of Teacher Education) – Champion in Baseball at the STRASUC 2024 held in Palawan, and a proud 4th placer at the National SCUAA Games 2025 in Camiguin!

🏅 Ms. Dana Joseah E. Alvarez (College of Health and Sciences) – Silver Medalist in Women’s Volleyball at the National SCUAA Games 2025 in Camiguin, after leading her team to victory as champions at STRASUC 2024 at Palawan State University, Puerto Princesa, Palawan!

Their passion, commitment, and sportsmanship have brought pride not only to the university but also to the entire City of Batangas. What makes their achievements even more special is that both athletes are proud residents of Brgy. Libjo. These accomplishments remind us that with dedication, heart, and hard work, our youth can truly achieve greatness.

To the City Council of Batangas, and especially to Hon. Zester Carlo M. Hernandez, thank you for your continued support to student-athletes and sports development. Your recognition fuels the dreams of many young Batangueños and inspires them to keep pushing forward.

Special thanks to Sir John Ian V. Cumal, Sports Coordinator of BatStateU Rosario Campus, for his invaluable assistance and for helping make this opportunity possible. Your support truly made a difference!

The Office of Sports Development Program of Batangas State University Pablo Borbon is thrilled to introduce two exciting wellness initiatives aimed at fostering an active and healthy lifestyle within our university community!

🔥 "Smash, Spin, and Sweat: A Fitness Play Day" – designed for Badminton and Table Tennis enthusiasts, this program encourages fitness, fun, and friendly competition.

🏀 "Fast Break and Power Spike: A Game for Wellness" – perfect for Basketball and Volleyball enthusiasts, promoting teamwork, endurance, and overall well-being.

📍 Open to students, faculty, and staff, these programs are your chance to stay active, relieve stress, and build camaraderie while enjoying the sports you love!

To participate in the University Wellness Program, follow these simple steps:

✅ Step 1: Register – Visit the Office of Sports Development, Pablo Borbon, for registration, orientation, and the issuance of a fitness monitoring sheet.

✅ Step 2: Medical Assessment – Participants are required to attend the scheduled medical assessment before joining. Strictly: No medical, no play!

✅ Step 3: Choose Your Game – Select the program you'd like to join:
🏸🏓 "Smash, Spin, and Sweat: A Fitness Play Day" (Badminton & Table Tennis)
🏀🏐 "Fast Break and Power Spike: A Game for Wellness" (Basketball & Volleyball)

✅ Step 4: Check the Schedule & Venue –
• Badminton: Covered Court (Every Tuesday & Thursday, 5:00pm-8:00pm)
• Table Tennis: Canteen Lobby (Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 5:00pm-8:00pm)
• Basketball: Gymnasium (Every Tuesday & Thursday, 5:00pm-8:00pm)
• Volleyball: Covered Court (Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 5:00pm-8:00pm)

✅ Step 5: Show Up & Play! – Bring your energy, sports attire, and game spirit! Equipment may be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own when possible.

✅ Step 6: Stay Active & Have Fun! – Engage in friendly matches, enjoy the game, and embrace a healthier lifestyle!

The Office of Sports Development Program conducted the 1st P.A.B.L.O. B.O.R.B.O.N. Friendship Cup 2024, which was held last August 22, 2024. The event began with a smooth parade followed by the Opening Ceremony. They also presented their muse for the event.

Our office would like to acknowledge the presence of the esteemed officials of this University and express our gratitude to all the teams participating in the event. We deeply appreciate the commitment and enthusiasm of each team, as they come forward to represent their respective groups in the 1st P.A.B.L.O. B.O.R.B.O.N. Friendship Cup 2024. Your presence and dedication help make this event a success.

Come and join us for our Final Try-Out for Basketball (Men) at BSU-TNEU (Gymnasium) and Volleyball (Women) at BSU-TNEU (Covered Court). 🏀🏐

Give your best and prove that you deserve to be (1) one out of (15) fifteen athletes to be picked in every event.
