SIKLAB: Advancing Gender-Responsive Leadership through Capacity Building for Students and Faculty of Taysan Senior High School
(Service, Inclusivity, and Knowledge to Lead Advocacies beyond Barriers)

Batangas State University – The NEU Alangilan, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, Extension Services Office and College of Engineering Technology, successfully conducted SIKLAB, an extension program designed to strengthen gender-responsive leadership among the students and faculty of Taysan Senior High School.

Guided by the principles of service, inclusivity, and knowledge, the program provided participants with valuable learning experiences aimed at developing leadership competencies, promoting gender sensitivity, and fostering a culture of respect and equality. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and capacity-building sessions, participants explored topics on inclusive leadership, safe digital spaces, mental wellness, gender-responsive policies, employee welfare, and professional development.

The program highlighted the vital role of educators and student leaders as agents of change who can champion gender equality, create safe and inclusive environments, and inspire others through responsible and compassionate leadership.

As its name suggests, SIKLAB ignited greater awareness, strengthened advocacy, and empowered participants to lead beyond barriers toward a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

In celebration of diversity, empowerment, and inclusive leadership, the Gender and Development Office, together with PAPAGAYO – The Red Spartan Pride Council and FOCUS – BatStateU Camera Club Alangilan, proudly present two meaningful initiatives dedicated to strengthening awareness, compassion, and safe spaces within the Red Spartan community. 💜

📚 Kulaydoscope V2.0 serves as a dynamic platform for student-led learning, discussions, and presentations that promote understanding of Gender and Development (GAD), LGBTQIA+ concerns, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS awareness, and inclusive leadership. Through seminars and capacity-building activities, students are empowered to become advocates of equality, respect, and social responsibility.

🤝 Kulay Agapay v2.0 continues its mission of fostering inclusive voices and safe connections by creating supportive spaces for dialogue, creativity, and mental health awareness. This initiative champions acceptance, understanding, and community engagement for marginalized sectors, especially LGBTQIA+ individuals and the youth.

Together, these initiatives aim to cultivate a campus culture where every voice matters, every identity is respected, and every hue contributes to a stronger and more inclusive community. 🌈✨
